I wonder if Ford even knows there is a problem with the BC update?

A lot dealers are running through the procedure and closing the car out in Oasis even though BC isn't working.

It looks like the tech updates everything they see in FDRS, and thinks they are done. I know is says "test" but I wonder how many techs have ever driven a car with working BC to know the difference between lane centering and BC?
Yeah, because the term "hands free" is so unclear...

My tech test drove it and reported the BlueCruise was fine. Of course, all they had was ACC with Lane Centering. The tech had never used either before.

mine was definitely there over the weekend (carbonized grey, awd, ex range), but the service advisor told me it was successful :)
I think they have realized their error. Did you deal with the same service advisor mentioned in the post?

The October date isn't the date your subscription expires, it's the date the maps expire. The maps are updated every 6 months. That's why all cars currently have the same October date on the Sync screen but your connected services will have another date for your car's subscription.

Clear as mud.

That is the subscription for your connected navigation. BlueCruise will show up as another subscription once it's active.

Thanks, you just helped me make my case that you don't need to be in EA to get BC to work.

Mike
He said he signed up for it though? If you've signed up for it before that might be enough even if you weren't let in? It wouldn't surprise me if the VIN lists that got sent to the server also included waitlisted cars due to an oversight. I think we should be asking if people are on EA waitlist, admitted, or never signed up.

The last step in the instructions couldn't be more clear. The dealership is to drive the car on a BlueCruise highway and verify the hands-free works.

Your dealership didn't do that. They apparently cannot read.
I just left San Tan Ford. The Service Manager rode along with me to see what I am experiencing. He confirmed that Blue Cruise did work initially. So, I decided to leave my MME there so they can spend more time with it. It’s not a big deal. This is a huge learning curve for everyone.

You may well be correct on EA. And/Or there still may be ranges of VINs that qualify (EA or not).

If you really want to make good show of it, help us figure out how to go, for example from 358 to 364, or EKK to EKL.

Once I accessed the EA webpage, it jogged my memory. When I tried to sign up last year, I got that same screen. I signed up for the waitlist. AFAIK, I was never enrolled in EA.

Well I'll tell you how I think this is going to go...

I think there's going to be a SSM or similar that comes out and tells the techs that for people that are stuck at 358 that they need to confirm that the GWM is at a certain version, and that if it is that they are to perform a PMI on the APIM to see if that fixes the problem. Or a variation of that. They just did something similar on the IPC, and it was determined that the reason the IPC wasn't updating was that the GWM was at the wrong version of software, and needed a PMI to force it to update.

The techs all have that TAC hotline they can call, and I'm sure that's happening everyday concerning the 21G01 procedures.

The big thing here is to not give up and accept the vehicle back without BC working and letting the dealership close out the workorder as completed when it's not.
