Had a local dealer perform 21G01 update a few days ago. Based on the service report, GWM, TCU, APIM, GWM, IPMA, APIM and IPC were updated, APIM hard reset twice, codes cleared and test drove. But there still no HandsFree Driving Mode option or BlueCruise enabled. Sync4 is still on 21281_Product Revision 244. Wondering if the dealer correctly performed the update or left out some modules. Would anyone mind running my VIN? Thanks.
Sure, shoot me a DM:)

Your car doesn't have any updates available in FDRS? I find that hard to believe unless they've already been done.
Could be a theme. The dealer did all the updates, and FDRS shows no modules left to update. However, no BC. The dealer is waiting for Ford Engineer to get back to them. If/when there is a resolution, I'll share what was done here.

In the mean time, any ideas to help the dealer are welcome.

Just a heads up. There is this notice in FDRS today about some planned maintenance. It could be there is an issue that will be fixed on their end with this. Or its just routine maintenance and has nothing to do with some updates not showing up. Guess we'll see.

I am in the same boat. My dealer call the Ford Hotline and he was told that BC has not been released for all the VINs and once it is released there will be an OTA update that will enable it. Not sure how much of that is lost in translation between FORD and Dealership.

And based on info Jessie-Infotainment has posted (and what sounds more likely to be accurate) is that the tech may have to do a PMI on certain modules in FDRS to get them to update properly. An example mentioned is above where supposedly all the modules were updated but Sync is still at version 244.....? Clearly that's not right. (should be 364 when BC ready)

And if that's what they were actually told by the Ford Hotline bot then I suspect there's shenanigans afoot!

I'm beginning to think the S in FDRS stands for shenanigans, to be quite honest. ?‍♂

I'm curious if anyone could run my VIN through to see if I'm missing an update that allows BlueCruise to fully work. I suspect I am. Details about dealer experience included for reference.

I'm getting mixed behavior. I don't have the hands free option. When I turn on what was adaptive cruise, I get "BlueCruise on" message. Though BlueCruise never fully engages. I get notices to put my hands back on the wheel as well as message to watch the road if I block the sensors, but the dash never turns blue for full BlueCruise driving. Pretty sure the road would be BlueCruise supported as it's the only interstate through eastern washington.

The sync version says Revision 358.

1) Would love if anyone could identify modules that may need updating. I would really appreciate it. Suspect the dealership didn't install a pending update or missed a step.

2) Is there some sort of BlueCruise activaition step that is required? The dealer did do a master reset at the beginning of the update so fordpass was disconnected during the updates.

3) Since I'm at 358, is it likely/possible that I could still get remaining updates OTA since I do see that the OTA updates are now able to be scheduled/enabled. Right now it says there are no updates.

Thank you,
Dan

- 2021 Job 1 car, premium, extended battery, copilot. Bought it new a couple weeks ago with 6,000 miles (was a demo car for dealership).

- When I received it, it was clear that OTA was broken (no version, no new apps, no full screen carplay, couldn't turn on ota updates). Scheduled dealer to apply TSB 22-2117.

- The day before, the blue cruise program was announced. Printed that and the TSB above to bring to dealer. They said they would look at the updates and apply the BlueCruise updates.

- It took 3 days, but it sounds like they just jumped right to BlueCruise update (not looking at TSB 22-2117). They said BlueCruise updates were done and had me come in to pick up the car. Since they did that first, TSB 22-2117 process indicated no further updates needed. It does look like I can schedule OTA updates, I have extra apps, car play full screen works, etc.

- They of course didn't do the test drive though the notes do say that they did the final reset steps at the end of the instructions.

It doesn't look like you have any updates pertaining to BlueCruise specifically (aside from the GSM, but It might be tangentially related), but there are still a few updates available

However, your car seems to be in roughly the same spot as mine. Stuck on SYNC 358

Very helpful! Thanks for the help. Hoping something happens OTA that gets us off of 358. My dealership folks (as nice as they are) were somewhat new to this it seems.

You should ask them to install glass in the middle of the hood while you’re there. So at least you can see down into your frunk even if you can’t open it.
plug up the drain and you can have a lovely fishbowl. just be sure to get some oxygen in there sometimes.

Yeah, well that's not the only dealer who's said that. And given the amount of work and coordination required between two separate outside contractors in some cases, (one for the trim/body and another for the glass work), the potential for OOpsies! (and finger-blame pointing after the fact when it goes sideways), is a huge concern compared to a rational assessment of whether there appears to be water intrusion, or wind noise that might indicate that the entire fricking roof was about to come off. So again, it's probably not the only dealer who's saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Personally, I'm waiting until later in the summer to get mine done when it's warmer.

Mike
My dealer STILL cannot perform that glass recall...

Mine is pretty much in the same place (been doing my own FDRS since last year). The question is are we "stuck" because something is not right? Or, are we just waiting for our VIN to be eligible for the last update that gets us to Sync Ver. 364 (an APIM update)?

As in your list (although I do almost all updates, so my list is clear now), there is no new APIM to update Sync from Ver. 358 to 364 yet.

That's exactly what I'm wondering - if the final update is not available to us yet since the VIN list hasn't cleared through whatever control point FDRS uses to authorize the updates.
