Sounds like a bad business decision for work that charges by the hour lol. These freaking idiots.
Not when you can do other work at a higher rate.

There are too many polls.

One poll says that 4 people had BC added by dealer, and 2 did it themselves, but did not distinguish between those in EA or not.

Another poll says there is 1 person who installed BC that wasn't in EA, and 2 people that had the dealer install 21G01 but doesn't specify that they were successful in getting BC. 10 non-EA people say that the dealer tried to install 21G01 and they don't have BC.

I want success, so if there isn't a clear path to it, I'll not waste their time or mine.
I am hoping within the next hour or two, I will give you an update on a successful Blue Cruise installation at a dealer, and I am not an EA member. I sent the service department a text stating that they should reach out to McGrath Ford in Hiawatha Iowa because someone on this forum mentioned they successfully installed the 21G01 programming. About 10 minutes after sending the text, the technician called me to inform me that he finally has installed the updated modules including Sync version 364. He said the hands free options are now showing up. He still wants to test drive on a designated interstate to confirm the Blue Cruise update. However, I logged in to my account to see if Connected Services was updated with Blue Cruise and it is not showing installed on Connected Services.

Thanks to those who provided FDRS reports for my VIN #, especially @Mike G, who ran my VIN multiple times and provided feedback that I shared with the technician. You have to keep pushing these service departments. My technician did not want to try PMIs to force updates but I insisted. I will follow up later this afternoon.

For those that don't use FDRS, what does "try PMIs to force updates" mean?

Programmable Module Installation(PMI) is a function in FDRS the dealer would use if they are installing a blank module and need to upload software to it.

The running theory is that it can force an update to the latest software level without the update being listed in FDRS

However, it seems rather risky to me since it overwrites more than a software update would.

You are correct, it can be risky, and that is why the technician did not want to use that option. But he communicated with Ford and apparently was directed to do the PMI.

I believe he did the PMI on the Gateway Module (GWM) followed up with the PMI on the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM/SYNC) to get to Sync 364 to enable the hands-free option and Blue Cruise.

Were you already at 364, and just needed to enable HF? I tried Mike's suggested PMIs right away, but it did nothing in my case to cause FDRS to offer me more updates from Ver. 358. (no harm, but no success either)

A number of us are at Sync Ver. 358 with no further SW Update options offered to get to 364. IF the statement that EA has nothing to do with any delays is correct, then we need a procedure to trigger FDRS to offer more updates, presumably at least one more round of APIM/GWM updates.

There is no question of the files presence somewhere on the Ford servers. The issue for many of use, especially those of us at 3.58 by DIY FDRS normal procedures, is how to get FDRS to offer the last bits of the final update.

Or, it is still possible (EA or not) that our VIN numbers have to be somehow enabled by Ford to receive the final updates, even using FDRS. To the best of my understanding, my FDRS options are identical to what a dealer would see. If someone knows some procedure to take the FDRS past 358 to the next step, I'm all ears.

I was not already at 364, I was at 358 since last week when they initially tried to install Blue Cruise. If the technician successfully gets Blue Cruise fully functional, I will make sure to quiz him like crazy so I can share what he did on this forum.

Persistence paid off -- sort of. With multiple tries they got the final APIM installation to work. However, now it's good news and bad news.

Good news:
Sync says v364 and Hands-Free available

Hands-Free is turned on

Instrument Panel says it has BlueCruise is on:

Bad news:

Marlin think he's on Power-Up 2.4.4

JSON says 2.5.3

The Ford Nav thinks I'm 2500 feet from Koons Ford while in their lot.

I've received no FordPass message saying I have BlueCruise.

No Blue screen and hands free when driving in a Blue Zone.

At this point I'm hoping the rest of it resolves on its own, through finalizing the pending 2.5.3 update, or perhaps on the Ford end. I have Marlin back home.

Any idea what they did to get APIM update to load? my dealer is stumped.

And congratulations BTW

Persistence I think. They didn't say they did anything special.

Your pictures got cut unless it's my side?

However you say Marin still thinks it's on power up 2.4.4?

Where are you seeing this?

I took my Mach-E to the dealership yesterday to address the seemingly common issue with the CV joints/half-axles that make a weird clicking/clunking noise when making hard left or right turns. The dealer called me today to say that the CV joints were in fact bad and they're just about done replacing them. He then went on to say that what is taking even longer is the new BlueCruise software recall that they're trying to install. Mind you, when he asked "is there anything else you have concerns about?" yesterday at the desk, I purposefully said "no" knowing that there was little success at dealerships for this particular update.

I told him that I'm a bit of a nerd, I read the forum multiple times daily, and to not be surprised if it ultimately fails to complete. I'm hoping to not experience some of the symptoms of this update like others (i.e. losing lane-centering or adaptive cruise control). They did the CSP software update just fine, so hopefully, they know what they're doing. However, I guess if they run into trouble I'll tell them to call our friends in Iowa? Pray for me.

Sync and Hands-Free available are in the Sync info on the General Settings page.
Hands-Free on is under Adaptive Cruise Controls on the Driver Assistance Settings page.
Power-Up number is on the System Updates Settings page.
