Your experience spells misery. I'd probably have bailed on the whole situation by this point. Sorry you've had to endure all of this.

Hey everyone. This is long but I really hope you take the time to read for awareness. I’ve been having issues for the past month and today is a bit of a nightmare so I figured I’d vent here.

I have two mach-e’s. A red first edition (Apollo) and a white premium 4x (Boo). We got Apollo in February and Boo in March.

Todays nightmare: we live in the greater Seattle area and my husband took Apollo to Stevens Pass which is like the middle of nowhere in the mountains where it’s currently snowing for photos with his car group. When he tried starting the car to come home, we got the “Please pullover safely” message. Car would not shift gears. Neither a jump start, disconnecting the 12v battery, or letting the car sit fixed the issue. This all happened around noon. After trying everything he used Ford 24/7 roadside assist to get help. We would need a flatbed to get the car to a dealer. Ford quoted 3 hours for a tow to arrive. They were also demanding $500 which turned into $700 because it’s so remote even though it would be brought to the closest dealer which would be where we bought it anyways. The car eventually loses all auxiliary power but a Tow truck finally arrives. However, ford apparently cancelled the tow because it took too long and the tow truck refuses to tow the car and leaves because we can’t get it figured out with ford within five minutes (tow guy was a jerk). Now ford is trying to find another tow but it could take hours. It’s now night, freezing, frozen, no power, no heat, and hours from civilization. Luckily his friends car is there. At the time of typing, this is all happening real time. This is incredibly frustrating and at this point, it’s becoming a safety concern given the conditions. It’s proven to me that even after 15k miles on the car, these Mach-es can’t be trusted and it’s incredibly frustrating. We put our faith into these cars as both Mach es are our only cars now.

The other nightmare that has been going on since November 9th. My mache (Boo) was having ratteling issues in the front wheel wells. I scheduled to have it repaired to my local dealer. I simultaneously scheduled additional repairs for two windows replacements because the rear quarter panel window and rear driver window were damaged during delivery in March and the replacement JUST ARRIVED IN NOVEMBER. So I figured I’d have those repaired all at the same time. Dealer also suggest having the recalls taken care of. Sure that makes sense. Well it took a week but the barrings and windows were replaced. My dealer contracts out windshield replacement out to a local body show so the windshield and call roof recall will be done there. I have secure alerts turned on so I can see when the cars being worked on. The car sits at the body shop for two weeks without being touched. Finally, I see they start working on it. My dealer calls me a few hours later and lets me know they shattered the windshield and need to order a new one. Jesus okay so that’s an extra week. Windshield arrives and the body shop won’t get to install it for another week. I ask if the roof was successfully reinstalled and they have no idea. This upcoming week will be 30 days and I’m seriously considering lemon lawing this car. Only problem is there aren’t many other electric suvs that interest me with this size.

So here we are. Purchased two maches and neither are functioning and one is currently on its way to a dealer if we can find a tow truck.

Side story: both our cars weren’t part of the original recall. Apollo had its windshield cracked so we went through our insurance and got it replaced at safelite. However when they took off the old windshield they realized it wasn’t originally installed correctly and refused to install a new one for a few days. The dealer refused to help because we didn’t go to them for a windshield replacement but we just wanted assistance getting it installed or something but they refused. I reached out to corporate and told them that the recall should be extended. They said they would get back to me the next day but never did. Two weeks later the recall was extended to more cars. Satellite found someone capable of installed and resealing the windshield.

Anyways I am getting really tired of the issues with these cars. We spend nearly 140k on these and it’s been problem after problem met with barely any help. I was so excited when I ordered these cars in 2019 and that excitement fades with every issues. I have been coming to this forum nearly every day since the cars announcement and have been such a big fan. It’s so crushing to be facing such disappointments.

Thanks for reading and I truly hope you have better experiences with your cars.

Sorry for any typos and weird sentences. Typed this in my phone :)

Hello Nick, sorry to hear of your troubles. Living the front end of these type of problems now... 12 days in, no resolution. In a self-paid rental car still.... Posted it on thread BRICKED > TOWED > WAIT at https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/bricked-towed-wait.11961/#post-295200

We love our car, this is our second Mach-E, but the dealer experience / quantity of certified technicians is not up to par yet. Hopefully with the F150 Lightning this will dramatically grow.
We're hoping to hear more today as we are a few weeks out from moving from California to Texas an NEED that vehicle to get us there :)

Best of luck !

Hello. I initially reported here that I had problems with a creepy local dealership of Good Ol Boys lying about the x-plan, and never got around to actually ordering my MACH-e, mainly due to reading here about these sorts of issues. One of my workarounds for getting a different EV, maybe, that you may want to consider is the Jaguar I-Pace. They are loaded with issues just like the Mach-E, but the customer service is impeccable and they will not be leaving you stranded on a mountain pass in the middle of a snow storm. They also will take a vehicle back, their first edition was riddled with problems. The cars are luxurious, very fast (all of them GT fast), and beautiful! And have a 5-year bumper to bumper warranty plus extended battery and powertrain.

For myself, for now though I ordered a Bronco! I don't want to deal with these Ford dealers who refuse to work on Mach-E's that they did not sell at their own shop, or dealers whose service departments have no idea what they are doing. The Bronco forum reports make it sound like the service departments often barely manage to figure out how to service ICE vehicles after 60 years in the business, so I don't have confidence that they will figure out the EV service issues anytime soon. Perhaps I will get the Bronco and hope it is worth a lot of money, and use that equity to buy the Jag. ;)

With all these MME issues I’m losing confidence in my order!! Premium 2022 due build Jan 3. Should I give it up?
Consumer reports named it above average in reliability. I have not heard of any bumpers falling off. These forums are a place to that gives folks a location to report problems. The Majority are happy owners with little to no issues, like me, 12,500 trouble free miles. The Mach E is a great car.

Actually i-pace is nowhere near as quick as GT. 3.5 vs 4.5 that's a lot.

After a few hours of research it's hard to find any negative points on the Rivian. Low quality camera resolution, no power up tailgate, maybe quick to show signs of ware on the charge port door, slightly slow UI. None of which would bother me if I'm able to sell Apollo back to Ford there's a chance I might go that route or lease until something viable comes around.

Boy oh boy, I hate dealers but reading posts like this make me thankful for the ones around me. They at least give a little when you push for answers/results. So sorry to hear about being stranded, hopefully everything works out and you can lemon law that bad boy.

Would like to know what caused this - is this because of the cold weather? - would appreciate an explanation from the mechanic whenever you get this fixed. I was hoping to take my car to for ski trips, but hearing this got me thinking twice.

sorry to hear about your troubles - sucks

I used their build and price tool and only picked color as an option and no others. $72,000 for the car and only a 222 mile range, nice vehicle but no thanks!

Got some news back from the dealer for my dead mache....they are waiting on thier transmission specialist to have a look at it sometime this week...I somehow doubt that it is a transmission problem, but lets see what happens.

To be fair, aren't there like, no Rivians in normal people's hands? I think you'll most certainly start seeing issues with them... all current Rivians are purely employee cars that were delivered, from what I can find online.

Update:
Got Apollo back from the dealer today. They got the car from the tow on Monday and it started up as normal. They looked into and think some battery modules weren’t functioning as expected so they updated them. Dealer says it seems to be normal now. Hoping the issue doesn’t repeat in a week like some people on the forum.

As for Boo, it’s still sitting in the body shop without a windshield. I don’t know what’s taking so long as the replacement windshield to the one they broke was delivered last week. Hopefully I’ll get Boo back sometime this week too.

Sorry Nick, that does sound like an ordeal. What dealer are you going through? My dealer is still encouraging a service for the omnibus recall even though I pushed back on the windshield as it was replaced by Satellite two months ago.
