god forbid they treat us like adults and let us precondition at will
"Wait, we have to push a button on the screen, we can't do it by voice?"

"Wait, we have to push a button on the screen, we can't do it by thought?"

"The car has GPS, it's outrageous that it doesn't know it's near a charger without my telling it."

"You took 3.2kW of my battery to precondition, and I was driving 93 miles an hour, and you caused me to run out of power, Ford, and I'm suing you."

"What's preconditioning?"

It should at least work with Apple Maps since its already talking to car for battery level.
Hopefully they will make that happen some day.

I think they would need to access deeper integration, the current EV routing is basically just getting consumption data and then displaying the calculation from the phone side, along with the current route on the IPC.

I don't see a way it would work in its current form to know to tell the car that you are going to a DCFC. Of course you tell it, but that's just displaying what's on the phone, the car doesn't know anything about that. I think this would have to be included in a software/hardware refresh and if Ford goes along with Apple's future CarPlay ambitions.

It would definitely need to be something both sides worked on. There could be an option in Apple Maps to precondition when in route to a charger with a setting for how far out to start. The phone could then just tell the car to start preconditioning. It wouldn’t need to be a two way communication.

That would be awesome. I’m still hoping we get next-gen CarPlay too.
That would be great, but I am not holding my breath.

Has anyone actually confirmed 4.3.4 aside from a post on Facebook? I ask because my car doesnt have it yet, but last night I was getting all sorts of funny things which usually indicates a large update is downloading or working in the background. But as of now nothing is showing.

And I understand update timing varies, but since last fall I have gotten every update on day 1 that it shows up on this forum.

So far I don’t think anyone on here has.

Hmmm.
I'm in EA and haven't received 4.3.4.
The last 4.x update that I received was 4.2.6 on May 30, 2023.
Since then I've received:
- PU 23-PU0415-BLM-VIS which is CSP 21B36 (PAAK) on June 7, 2023
- PU 23-PU0314-DCM-LAT (Prep for "future updates that are more complex") on June 27, 2023

4.2.6 to 4.3.4 would be a pretty big jump.
If this is real, I guess we would expect to see it any day now.

Additionally, if it is real, it would seem interesting that we received an update to prepare the car for ""future updates that are more complex" and an update that impacts the "power steering control".
Smells like BlueCruise 1.2 preparations.

Yep. I love more data and control over the vehicle, but I have sympathy for Ford here.

On the F150s there's a way to enable a digital transmission temperature readout and there's folks who've done that and taken their their vehicles to the dealer because their temperature is X degrees above what other people are reporting, then when the dealer tells them it's within the normal range they have a fit and talk about how they're never buying another Ford.

I think the MME refresh will get the IPC display like is on the Polestar and BMWs with CarPlay now, I don't know if they can update the current IPC to do that. Kind of odd how the IPC isn't just a dumb display but has it's own processors and software and is limited in capability.

Yup.

I've been listening to this crap for 10 years, since I bought my F-150. Every single feature that Ford rolled out people bitch about. Show more data, they want less. Add more features, they want less. Make it safer, they want to ride in it with jagged glass windows and no windshield.

It always comes back to:

Ford Mustang Mach-E Power-Up 4.3.4 Is Out Carlin stupid peopl

4.3.4 doesn’t sound right for a version number. Where are the preceding OTAs in the alleged 4.3.X series? I’m pretty sure ford has never started a new OTA series in the middle of the sequence.
Not sure this is real (it did come from Facebook after all ?)
