You can hear it. Depending on the temp it will start by conditioning the batteries you can hear the recirc pump working and see the charger is drawing power. The app will also tell you it is doing it. The preconditioning of the cabin you should feel. When it switches to cabin (last 15 minutes or so) you will hear the blower fan and the charger will still be feeding power.How can you tell if the car has been preconditioned? That certainly shows that the cabin is heating but doesn't necessarily show that the battery is preconditioning.
