I've tried twice to get them done but the dealership has done none and kept putting me off on their body shop, who continued to claim the roof glass would have to be removed, even after I printed and showed them the instructions.... Then refused to follow up with me to at least schedule the windshield.

That didn't instill any confidence in me and I'm not comfortable with their body shop removing my headliner and replacing it.
Find a different dealer, i was in and out in a day no issues. I havent dont anything with the dealer i bought my car from after i found a better dealer that knows this ev

Hey, if you are still in or regularly travel to Northern Virginia I recommend you try Malloy Ford, formerly Jerry's Ford on Little River Turnpike in Alexandria /Annandale for this.

This has certainly crossed my mind. 38,000miles on my FE without issue....

I never even got the windshield/roof recall completed. Mostly because my dealer didn't want to do it.
Windshield and roof are structural components of the vehicle. I would get them done if I were you for safety reasons.

The dealer/service department have been okay otherwise, and they're the only EV certified dealer around. I'll probably bring it up when I schedule for the HVBJB recall and see what happens.

I'm in Roanoke, so Magic City Ford is about my only option locally.

Anyone have suggestions for dealers in Wisconsin that are performing this recall? Tried Van Horn ford but they said the recall can’t be fixed yet as they haven’t been informed on how to fix it

Are they saying RWD SR don't have this issue?

Yes, extended range only. Standard range batteries do not push as many amps, so the risk of HVBJB failure is low enough that it doesn't require replacement.

Yes, there was a C version, which I did have fail on me. After the C version is when Ford went to the remanufactured version, which the first one failed almost immediately and the second one was still in it when Ford bought back the car. Now that a recall has been issued they had to go back to new parts since they would never have enough remanufactured parts to satisfy the recall numbers.

Before the car went back to Ford, I volunteered to let them install a tracking device so I could take it out on my back road routes and allow engineering to see exactly the routes, road elevations, throttle positions, speeds, etc. It stored everything for them and as I understand it that data was used by engineering to run simulations using my driving data to make sure the new parts could handle the loads. I came away with the impression the team was very interested in the data and really wanted to make sure this problem is resolved. Hopefully they succeeded, but only time will tell for sure.
Wouldn’t there be an actual new part number if they did anything with the data? Unless the data showed the software was being too sensitive and they just needed to tweak that?

You would think so. I never heard back as to what the outcome was. I know they got the data back - and it was over 7 hours of my back road driving - and I know they were very eager to get that data and analyze it. I also saw a F-150 Lightning Ford testing vehicle with manufacture plates on it a month after they got the data so I also assume they are using my routes to continue testing.

Call me an optimist, but I really do think my data made it's way up the chain and the current part - no matter what the part number - has some improvements made to it based on that analysis.

Interesting and a bit of a mystery. TSB 23-2257 dated August 21, 2023 lists the applicable GT remanufactured part number as LK9Z-10C666-BRM, so not sure how you got the -CRM version. Perhaps you could post your invoice showing the part number, or better yet a picture of the part or box with the number visible.
I dug up my paperwork and it it under a -BRM part, not a -CRM like I thought. ?‍♂?

In a somewhat related note, 2.4M Honda vehicles from '17 are being recalled to replace the fuel pump. Looks like my CRV is slightly outside of window (early).

Just to be clear, when you mention the -C version of the HVBJB that you broke numerous times in your car, was it a Premium 4X and not a GT? The Premium 4x old part number was NK4Z-10C666-C (or -CRM); just want to clarify that is the -C version you are talking about.

I hope you are right that Ford incorporated your data in their design of all the new part numbers to be used in this recall.

I will be shocked if these new parts fail in any noticeable quantity. If they do, there will be lawsuits galore.
