Ford would like to give a big F-you uh I mean THANK you to all the First Edition owners!
This is the case for all newer tech, no?

Obviously each model year will see improvements/etc. Let's just hope they follow up well with OTA's for those of us with first model year.

This is just the inevitability of technology marching on. What WOULD have been a disturbing answer is, "Well, we're feeling pretty good about where we are on range and efficiency, so we're not looking at that right now. We need to deal with all these cooling hoses first that the Internet complains about."

Technology will advance; if you wait for everything you want, you'll wait forever.

So, those of us that assumed the cooling system is the way it is because it uses common parts and tech with other Ford vehicles were right.
Yup, and that's not a bad thing the way she explained it. They knew they had it, they knew it was trouble-free in reports from the field, and it was a known quantity overall. That's reuse which Sandy is always championing anyway, right? I particularly like that their numbers shows the current model has more cooling power than actually needed based on data from the field. Works for me.

Or, it will if it ever arrives, but you know....

Every EV (and PHEV) owner deals with this as future models refine and improve range. Honestly, it's part of buying anything hi-tech.

Speaking of cooling: I'm kind of surprised Sandy didn't say anything about the loud main radiator fan on the MME - especially while charging at higher amperages. I bet they never experienced it given how fast they took it all apart.

I suspect range increases will just be coming from software tweaks and using more of the battery buffer. Age old case of start conservative then give it an increase as it also allows for marketing to make the mach-e appear current without having to make any drastic changes. We Probably wont see any major changes to the platform until the mid life refresh.

She is a Chief Engineer for a major car company? Not impressive at all. Uses the word 'right' as punctuation. Man, what is the criteria for Chief Engineer these days?

I'd say that someone on the job for nearly 30 years with what looks like a steady progression in her profession makes her more than qualified even if you don't like the way she says "right."

The other thing Sandy brought up the I agreed with was the side mirrors. Totally agree that it's time we ditch them.

I'd be fine with ditching the little door handle too. I like them, I just think I'd like the look better without them. Losing side mirrors and those little finger handles would really streamline things.

Sheesh, tough crowd. Don't confuse content with style. These days, "right?" has become the new "y'know" - a crutch so common that people aren't aware they are saying it.
That has zero to do with her expertise as an engineer.

I think she took the right tone with Sandy. Ford is in an evolution and is leveraging proven design in some areas and new design in others. Her explanation of the 2 pumps being needed based on the initial models and then reducing this to 1 based on actual usage data seems to be the right path.

What I want to know is where can you get one of those Mach-E vests? Fall is coming and that would be nice.

Regarding the complaint about her saying "Right" would you prefer she said "F Yeah"? In my opion, this is a nothingburger. Move on, not worth the time or energy.

Would have preferred Sandy asking her more, varied questions, rather than stating his opinion on everything first (which she was already aware of). Perhaps they will bring her back.
