Securalert Does What Now?

So I have to say, I love the concept of the securalert feature on the car/app, but it isn’t very helpful. Basically, all I get are little red notifications. But the worst part is that these
Annoying flags are for normal events. Like when I open a door. It’s supposed to alert me when unauthorized access occurs. But it triggers anytime any door is open, whether or not the car is on, or unlocked, or I have the fob and/or PAAK. It’s kind of stupid.

It's working as designed. Someone could copy your key fob.

I enable SecuriAlert when I know I'll be away from the vehicle for an extended period of time.

Yup. And some people can’t use the scheduling feature for it either. I turned mine off ages ago.

I have mine scheduled to go on overnight. Just in case someone tried to steal the car. It also notified me once when my hatch opened on its own in my garage ?

I've found exactly one situation where I find this useful. If I drop it off at the dealer I can see when they actually start doing something with it

Every so often I work in a part of city that's sketchy. After I park the MME in the parking garage I turn on the SecurAlert feature and then as I come back to the MME at the end of the day I turn it off. For me, it sends me a message on my phone if a door/trunk is opened when I am away. I actually like the feature.

Yes, exactly! I love the feature too, I think it is really great and I wish it did more kind of like the way Tesla‘s Sentinel record video. But I’d hate to have to turn it on and off all the time. I can schedule it when it becomes active of course, which is what I do, but my point is that I’m getting notifications for everything that happens with the car while I am actually doing it. It should be able to tell the difference between me opening the car with a key fob in my hand in the phone in my pocket and somebody trying to open the car when I’m not there. These are just some basics that seem odd. The fact that you have to go and turn it on and off is exactly the opposite of what they intended, I believe.

Someone could, but it’s a pretty unlikely event compared to somebody trying to steal the car, which is not even that likely, depending where you live or work. And it’s not working as intended because it’s not supposed to go off when the car is on. But I still get notifications on my phone when I am in the car with it running.

Notifications are too delayed. Park at store, open door and lock car. Several minutes later, I get an alert. Was it me 4 minutes ago? Or a break-in? And it doesn't trigger a loud and noticeable alert. Could be an email.

How did you set the notifications to wake you up?

Still working on that.

I would like to like this feature. The scheduler never works for me in anyway. On the rare occasion I turn it on manually (out of town, etc), it then refuses to turn off. No matter how many times it says Securalert is disabled it comes back like magic. On about the tenth random time of dismissing and disabling it finally turns off.
