Welp, after screen spline still wasn't doing the trick I tried this stuff and FINALLY something fully quieted the wind noise completely! I don't *love* the look, but honestly I am likely to be the only person who ever notices the extra piece of rubber. Thanks for the suggestion, @IslandEV

Glad to hear this fix worked for you too! I agree, I wasn't 100% sold on the extra rubber and thought I might notice it all the time. Honestly after the first couple of days I totally forgot about it and haven't noticed it since. I even asked my partner to come look at the mirror area and tell me if she could notice the work I did. Because she was worried about altering the vehicle and the aesthetics. And she couldn't find the change until I specifically pointed it out. I was curious if the rubber would change over time after being in the sun, washes, highway wind speeds, etc. and I keep forgetting to look! I'll grab some pictures in the next couple of hours and post them so you can see current state a month after installation.

It's the view from the top that I don't care much for. Looks unfinished. I may need to tinker a bit and see if there's a better way (other than Ford assembling the car correctly in the first place).

Please see post #83 in this thread for a better solution.

What mine looks like a month later.

I agree about the top/end view looking slightly unfinished and would be interested to see if you develop something! I thought about crazy gluing it closed but when I ran a test with a spare piece, I didn't like the result.

You just pressed it into place?

Yes it's just pressed into the gap essentially. The piece I'm talking about gluing and which I assume @Jeff-NoVA is referencing, is the end where the rubber is cut. It looks slightly unfinished after you've cut it to size. I thought about gluing that closed but didn't like test results.

Ford really needs to come up with a real fix. Or they should replace all the weather trim. The price we paid for Mach-E is should be a quiet ride. Ever new car I have ever bought first thing you notice is how quiet and smooth it rides. But the first thing I noticed on the Mach-E was what's that noise. Is all the windows rolled all the way up, yes. NOPE not the windows it's your badly build Ford window seal. They said an EV is so much quieter then on ICE car with a loud engine. WRONG! Wonder if I can use my Ford points to get some ear plugs?

This looks good. I am going to order some off of Amazon and install. What is needed on the end is a piece of black trim piece to make the transition. I will have to do some searching to see if I can find something or find something that could be modified.

So, after being unhappy with the unfinished end and realizing that in addition to the .130 in spline, I also had some much thicker .225 spline around, I pulled off the rubber strip I shared in the prior post and pushed the .225 inch into the gap. I pushed it fully in with the flat end of a plastic trim tool so that I could no longer see it. After treating the exterior rubber strip with some Shin Etsu silicone grease, I worked the .130 spline into the gap as I had before. This time it has worked much better than my prior attempt with spline, virtually eliminating the wind noise. So, we'll see how long it lasts but it sure looks a helluva lot better than the larger rubber strip did.

Edit: please see post #83 for a better solution.

With the addition of the spline in the void, any fears of water getting trapped in there and freezing? (For those of us in colder regions).

With all these ways to skin a cat, it still leaves you wondering why we're even skinning a cat....

For me in the mid-Atlantic, not a major concern. But I'd guess the spline would compress (it has a hollow core), the ice would expand against the rubber strip, or push out the smaller spline in the gap before it caused any real damage. I am a little concerned about dampness building up behind the spline, but even then it should drain out the unsealed bottom edge. Time will tell.
