I had a ~6"x6"x 1/4" thick piece of transparent lexan (plexiglass, similar to acrylic) sheet laying around. When placed on the screen it does seem to attenuate the high pitched noise slightly.

I think getting a ~3" high by 27.7 cm wide by 1/4" thick piece cut to press fit in front of the display would help even more. I might explore ordering one cut-to-size, such as from here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/303164994628.

The next step after would be to cut out a piece to cover the back, and then to cover the top/sides to fully enclose the display. Alternatively, the top/sides/back could be a 3D printed piece since it doesn't have to be transparent.

I found a cost effective way to get a piece cut-to-size with acrylic ($10 for quantity 1, $2.36 for 5+) with $7+ shipping:
https://www.tapplastics.com/product/plastics/cut_to_size_plastic/acrylic_sheets_clear/508

To make a slip-on enclosure with 1/4" acrylic, In bulk (quantity 10+), the price for side pieces would be $1 each, with a $1 top piece, ~$1.60 back piece, for a $7 total materials cost, not including some super glue. Factoring in 2-way shipping costs, the cost of a kit would be ~$15? Maybe $20 at most?

Is anyone interested in taking on managing a group order or putting something more polished together and selling for a slight profit?

You use solvent to bond acrylic, not super glue.

Count me in if a group order gets put together. I’m going crazy with this infernal buzz. I can easily hear mine over music and A/C.

I’ve been going back and forth with Ford corporate on this issue for 6 weeks and will be going into the dealer for the third time next week. I’m pretty close to going down the buy-back route.

@Ford Motor Company any updates on a fix?

@Ford Motor Company , is your chosen strategy to ignore complaints and gaslight customers to believeig the buzz is normal?
I understand that for older folks in Ford management and engineering it looks like unreasonable whine, because they just don't feel our pain. But believe us, it is very real.

It is, think about something else
Eric, you sound like a paid troll from Ford. They are clearly want to gaslight us, and you are supporting their strategy.

Someone had said a while back that Ford was working on sourcing a revised buzz-free screen, but I don’t know if this was accurate. I’m sure they *eventually* will source a new part for new Mach-E builds since I think it’s fair to say, this is such an unacceptable characteristic for a modern LCD screen.

Whether Ford would publicly acknowledge this or not, I’m confident at this point, whoever is in charge of the driver display for the Mach-E is, they must be aware of this issue. I just hope the new screen comes quick and we have the shot at a warranty replacement (as opposed to going out of pocket).

I find it hard to believe they would rather pay to buy back a used car than just fix a ridiculous issue. Even though this sound shouldn’t be present I would actually pay a reasonable amount of money to just get it fixed quickly. I hope they take this seriously. The frequency of this type of buzz can make people physically ill.

With the amount of low cost and easy to implement solutions you think they'd fix it up, but so far they seem pretty stubborn.

Update...Ford just messaged me this:
Ford Mustang Mach-E SM 49810 - Buzz Noise From The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) 1628631420507

I don't really understand. The lady that called me from the SUV team last week said we need to wait and do nothing for now. I'm going to contact my service advisor and the lady assigned to the case and see what she says. I will be super pissed if they swap it out and it has the same issue...

BUT this could be great news for anyone with the noise. They may have solved the issue and may be willing to replace them under warranty!

If it actually fixes the issue, I will be showing my local dealership this thread and message and I will NOT leave until they do exactly what these people did.
