Hi, MME owner in China here, some of the differences between the NA and CN version not mentioned above are:

CN version: lacks the number pad on the B pillar, so no password entry to the vehicle

CN version' infotainment system is done by Baidu and does not support Android auto or Apple carplay

As well as the GT grill, the Glass roof also comes as standard on all trims

Last and most significant difference, the CN version has a different battery setup with the base trim only getting 61.5 kwh battery capacity and the long range only getting 80 kwh, which is a significant downgrade from the NA version, and the base trim only support 7kw charging while the long range support 13kw.
However trade off for having so much less battery is that the 0-100km/h time has improved to 6.2s for the base trim and 6.5s for the long range

Don't know whether they tweaked the suspension setup to take into account of the less battery capacity/ lower overall weight (1950kg) for the base trim, but personally I find the ride quite bouncy, particularly at the rear.

A lot of the NA threads mention shady dealers marking up an ordered car after someone put a deposit many months ago after it arrives at the dealership.

Can you share how the purchase transaction was from your own experience? From what I've read, Ford is selling MME direct to consumer in China.

From my own experience and as far as I know, Ford and their Chinese manufacturing partner is selling directly to customer, so yes the MME are sold at MSRP via an online app, frankly Ford is struggling with sales even at MSRP given how competitive the EV market is in China

Here's another difference that I haven't seen mentioned. The Chinese version of the MME has a USB port built into the rear-view mirror area. Maybe for some sort of video recording like sentinel mode?

Have any Chinese GT first editions been tested or delivered?

I want to know 1/4 mile times and if they have a 5 second limit or not.

Also curious if the GT uses a different battery.

Would make it a lot easier to connect a dashcam. No hard wiring or trailing wires to the 12v accessory socket.

A few things from the European version that I would like to see in the US version are:
* Electric defrost in the windshield.
* official hitch option.
... and rear fog lights as well. I added the Euro rear fog lights to my Fusion after getting fogged in on West Virginia mountain highways more than once. Visibility = safety.

I want the Chinese version of the center console. If I could buy that part right now I would replace the phone tray in a heartbeat. I hope AOSK or someone else comes out with an aftermarket version.

May i know why would you want to replace the current phone tray in the Mach E?

Because my leg leans against it when I drive and it actually hurts my shin. There’s at least one thread on this forum where other drivers have discussed this and the steps they’ve taken to make it more comfortable. In some cases they have glued foam to the side of it to prevent the irritation.

I really want a solution to this that looks stock, not something cheesy or bolt-on.

Pipe insulation doesn't look stock, but at least it's not glued so it's easy to pop off at any time.

The middle console area in the CN version used slides to cover up the cup holder area, while in the US version, this area is open.

The CN console is similar to the console in the F150s, including my Lightning.

I like the ability to close the compartment holding the phone. The Qi (wireless) phone charger also works with my iPhone 12Pro.

Could you find the Chinese part number and bolt it in? Would likely be your best bet

Maybe, but someone with better search fu would have to figure out how. :) I’ve been on the ford parts website looking for chinese parts - I think I’d need a vin for a Chinese Mach E to find the right part.
I’m not certain it can just drop right in. The whole console looks subtly different and I’m not up for a big job. I think my best bet is to remove the current tray but I’d lose the cup holders and that’s a huge problem.

More than a year ago, I asked Zac at AOSK this very questions as I was interested in replacing the US version console with the China version. Here was his reply:

I got the email back from our friend that works in the biggest Mach-E dealer in China, unfortunately, he confirmed to me that if owners want some OEM parts from Ford, owners bring in their Mach-E to Ford, and they order the part directly from Ford factory, and they install the parts. This is true for all manufacturers. Some people do mod cars in China, for aftermarket parts they order it on a place like Amazon here and for some bigger parts, like a whole-body kit, they bring it to auto shop and let them order and install them. For OEM parts, you bring your car to the dealers to have them installed.

The reason why it's like this is because (1) China has a different culture than US or EU and don't DIY as frequent as US. They let others do it because labor cost is very cheap. (2) People mostly live in high-rise housing, and don't have the garage space to work on stuff. (3) The government has a strict regulation toward mods.
