It's a GT, so I converted my reservation the 1st day I could - 4/28/2021.

FWIW, my build week still shows 8/16/21 (this week) and now Primary Status from this forum's tracker tool shows "In Production".
Just saw some changes for my order on the forum tracker. It now has an ETA End Date of 2021-10-05 and a Production Date of 2021-08-19 (yesterday). Does that mean the car is built? Is the End Date an estimate of when it will reach the dealer?

1. Order placed online
2. Order goes to Dealer and Dealer accepts order
3. Ford acknowledges order with an email and an 8 digit order number
4. ????????
5. ???????
6. A build date is assigned followed by a VIN and a window sticker.
7. Car gets built
8. Car gets shipped from Mexico to KC to dealer
9.Purchase and delivery.

So WTF happens between 3 and 6? I left two options because I feel there must be more than one process. Is it all up to @Ford Motor Company after step 3? Is there a dealer issue that is the cause of delays?

Someone please explain, other than just by saying "allotment" what causes the pause that for some of us seems never ending

I feel your pain! I think the dealer does make a difference! 5/7 order date and silence! Makes no sense when guys with June order dates are getting build dates ahead of me.

Form submitted. 2021 premium Rapid Red, RWD ext range in New Jersey. Did not receive any email, checked the status on ford's web site.

I don't know if it's a coincidence, or if my email to my dealer helped. On 8/14, it was two months since dealer accepted order. Heard nothing from Ford in that time, so I sent the email to sales rep and manager. Explained that I had read on forum that dealer can see a Priority Code and asked what mine was. While I didn't get an answer to that question, I did get a text two days later that he could see the order was being processed. Two days after that, I saw online that my order had a production date of 10/11. In a text to my rep he says his manager complained to Ford cause dealership had too many unprocessed orders. So...

Definitely worth nudging your dealer to ask what your Priority Code is and if they can modify in a favorable way for you.

Yes, you would have to create a new order. I tried changing the color of my GT like two weeks after i ordered it and was told id have to create a new order and it would push back my production date.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I do not want to drag my delivery date to 2022 :((
I can't explain why Bearaka17 was told that he would have to create a new order to change the color, but I personally know that it's possible to change the color without creating a new order as I did it TWICE with my GT order. It may have something to do with the dealer and their experience with such things but it is absolutely doable to change options on an order without placing a new one and it did not impact my delivery date. Now if you change the trim as your suggesting, all best could be off but it's worth at least talking to the dealer about it.

just entered my order placed on 8/20. Still shows "order sent to dealer", and next step is "order accepted by dealer". I would assume I should expect that done today? (It's been 3 days now)
