Model 3 and Model Y can be upgraded in the suspension department, such as Ohlins R&T coilovers. Another datapoint for MYP and M3P purchasers
That is good to know because every time my wife and/or I am a passenger in a 3 or Y my stomach feels like I had way too many drinks way too fast.

Another reason my wife won't get let me get a Tesla....

Yah, I have a coworker with a few-years-old Model 3 and a coworker with a Model Y performance bought in late 2021. I've ridden in the Model 3 plenty of times. It definitely is louder with a rougher ride than my Premium AWD, bounce and all. I've only been in the MYP a few times. Didn't pay a lot of attention to the ride quality. The roads around me are largely well maintained (NH Seacoast), so most drives are pretty smooth regardless of the vehicle.

I think going from ICE to BE propulsion, the first thing you notice is the quiet and how smooth the acceleration is. One might not notice the rougher ride straight away.

I do wonder how (and if) Ford and GM will respond to Tesla's price changes. Though they may not have to. I heard a prediction (from only once source though) that Tesla's prices might go up again if wait times increase (six months?). It is still really early in this new IRA world and January is not really a car buying time in the Northeast. I'm very curious how this summer will shape up. The EV shows I participate in should be very interesting.

Same here - knowing that the Tesla used prices have tanked as a result this month...

As for Ford, I don't think they will do anything.

Demand here in So Calif is still very high for EVs and are commanding ADM even in January.

I am going to list my '22 Lightning for sale as my incoming '23 MME will be replacing it.

My auto broker is handling the Lightning listing and he said I should have no issues selling it over MSRP with 6000 miles on it because it's such a rare EV.

Tesla really going to kill the competition, everyone that got the end of December deal is going to be pissed.
Meh.... it's still a tesla. Can anyone attest to overall improvements in build quality after so many years?

Slows their momentum that they built up for the mach-e. When you’re tasked to increase production and eat into a market share on a segment that you will most likely have to cut prices on and lose money? Going to be interesting to see how they handle it
Maybe Ford will just ramp up the very popular Lightning line and launch Ranger/Maverick in a year or so.

Build quality is quite good on my Tesla (May 2022 build). Not many people still complain about build quality on Tesla forums.

They sold more cars than Mercedes or BMW or any other high quality luxury brands last year.

Over 90% of Tesla sales are model 3 and Y which are under $60k and likely average price is something like $50k. That’s not particularly what I would call “Luxury”. The lowest price Macan for Porsche is like $65k and the average selling price is over $100k. The “luxury” segment of Tesla - Model S/X sell in very few numbers. While maybe not “Toyota” I would certainly never point to a model 3 or Y and say “oh that’s luxury”. Same for MME. It’s not luxury either. Rather $50-60k price point is basically slightly above average I would say

I had one of the first MY LR, then traded in for a MYP last year. The fit and finish improved. I had a slight misalign trunk on the new MYP, but was easily fix with a service appointment. Never had any mechanical or electronic issues with either MY. Can't say the same for my GTPE.

Fit and Finish is better on the GTPE, but not by much. Mechanically and Software wise, there's no comparison. My teslas have been dead reliable, while my GTPE has had so many software gremlins, not to mention the looming HVBJB fiasco.

You're mad that Tesla offered you market value for your MME?

The used market for MME tanked. There's report of people getting offers for <40k for their MME this week. You should get other offers from carmax, carvanna, shift, etc and see if they are higher. My guess is that its going to be comparable.
Tanking is an understatement if that's actual used market value.

It's an insult to offer one car at 2020 pricing while offering 15k below that same pricing for the trade.

There are suckers born every day, and clearly those are Tesla owners.

With the standard deduction a single person earning $68,000 would pay over $7,700 tax, so its unlikely there are many folks that buy $50k cars that don't have sufficient tax liability.
Isn't the tax portion of Social Security, medicare excluded? So tax liability probably less then $7,700 you stated?

Yes investors are rather bullish in regards to your truck. "Everyone" is screaming BEVs are too expensive yet BEVs keep right on selling.

Sort of falls under knowing better and doing it anyway. Like eating brownies ?

Ford won't do anything, Chevy already did their cuts for their bolt and bold euv both great options for 25k

Fords only saving grace is its a mustang

Exactly how are Tesla owners suckers?
In case you haven't noticed, used car values have tanked in the last month. There are multiple threads on this forum where owners were offered 50k for their MME by one of the online dealers, then one week later, the offer was down to 40k by the same dealer.

https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/used-mach-e-pricing-dropped-carvana.25091/post-581720

Either way, if you find the offer to low, maybe Tesla just doesn't want use cars, take it somewhere else and get another offer. Don't have to be insulted.

I always thought the Model S was good-looking. Designed by Mercedes, wasn't it? 10 years old now.
I'm no Tesla fan boi but I have to agree about the Model S. It has had some minor refreshing over the years and the with the new '23 Plaids 15% cheaper, I am thinking hard about it.
