BC is WAAAY better with current code. no ping pong, stays engaged with crappy striping and is very smooth steering. definitely worth the FDRS session time. Now I need to dig into FORSCAN to figure out how to turn on the lane change option. Anyone have success with this? please share.
Yea, I'll message you now.

A few things to know based my most recent weekend FDRS session.

thing 1
My Clore PL6100 power supply died after the first module update... Being impatient, I hooked up a 44A 12v server power supply and kept going. It sagged to 11.6V when all pumps were running, but it did succeed. It finished the APIM update in 3 ish hours.

Ford expects the 12v system to be held at 13+ volts during programming so I was very nervous that the APIM would brick, but it did succeed. Not recommending you do this, but there is a little margin on the 12v rail. I'll get the Clore fixed or replaced before I do that again.
Depending on the model you should be able to adjust the voltage with a potentiometer adjustment inside. I've been using a server supply for two years with no issues. No load I'm at about 13.5V, at max load I drop to about 12.2V which has never caused any issues.

It's weird Wednesday I guess.

It's weird because when I checked FDRS this morning my MME has a new gateway update that will take me from "-FAN" to "-FAP". Normally new updates for the MME do not come out in the middle of the week. I also check my OTA dashboard but there isn't a trigger for it yet.

I have checked some other '23 models and several had it as well, but no '21 or '22 models so far from what I see.

That said...the console ports are USB 2.0 only (4 wire) just so everybody is aware. Only so much 'skip' you can put in the 'giddyup'.

I now have a 1TB NVMe SSD in an enclosure that is definitely the faster than my Sandisk I've been using for the last three years. So I was gonna give that a try the next time.
This is an update...I just tried using that NVMe enclosure with a 1TB SSD in it and got the message on the Sync screen that it can only be used to "charge" the device...so it's not recognized as a valid drive I guess. It is formatted as exFAT, default allocation size, etc, etc...So I went back to the old standby Sandisk and am doing the GWM that showed up this morning for me with that instead.

So I did the gateway update without incident. It was the usual USB based, "shut the car off for 10 minutes with the door open" and then restart and then validation of the updated packages, and then finally configuration.

I did do a couple of network scans before disconnecting just to make sure I didn't miss some other update that might be available now but no such luck.

Like many people here I have the more or less continuous VDM DTC concerning invalid data from ECM B. This gateway update didn't change anything in that regard.

Try create one partition with 32GB space... maybe the 1tb is to much.

The FDRS script for the RFA update is broken. It tells you to turn off the car while it is communicating with the module which breaks the session. PAAK is rock solid for me so I'm not too worried about it not being updated but this is the first module I've come across personally where the script is clearly wrong.

I suffered Thing 1 on my PL6100 as well. Mad dash to connect my T/A to the MME, battery chargers to the T/A, and then remove the Blazer’s battery and parallel that in. This was during an APIM update. That was fun. ??

Just curious given the PL6100 isn’t exactly cheap. But also supposed to be on a 20a plug, assume you are not flipping breakers?

not flipping breakers... the display on mine shows it is "working" but no current out in either power supply or battery charging mode.

Well let us know how that works out. I wonder if there’s an internal fuse or something that could be the issue. Mine’s been rock steady since purchasing. I do use it on a 20A breaker by itself and the laptop is on an extension cord to a different circuit when doing updates.

Mine is on a 20A circuit, but they operate just fine on a 15A circuit for the current that the MME draws. ??

They could just assign a campaign to VINs where the dealer can do the PSCM/IPMA updates needed.
I have yet to see a successful OTA campaign for the IPMA on any vehicle platform in Ford's line-up and I don't expect that to change any time soon. It simply has to stay in inhibit mode way too long and these EV's in particular have a tiny 12v battery that I don't think can take the stress.
This is super interesting. Is PSCM another name for IPMA, or are they different modules? I am going to schedule a mobile tech visit soon for TSB 24-2187, which I hope is a fairly quick software update.

If so, and if the mobile tech has some slack on their schedule, I wonder if they might agree to run an additional update or two? Is it feasible for a BC 1.0 (Job 2 2022) car to update the PSCM/IPMA within a 2-2.5 hour mobile tech visit? If not, are there any other prerequisites that might be useful to update? My car has been good about getting OTAs and has 6.14, CMR-FX, etc.

Thanks!

They are separate modules, but when you update one, fdrs forces you to update the other due to some kind of dependency.

It doesn't hurt to ask. The tool they use writes faster than a mongoose does
