This is the one I used initially. It will fail on the CMR updates if you ever get one. This is one of the ones that report corrupted data back to Ford also
Yes, I had problems with CMR, but it was not because of VCI. It also failed with the original adapter from my Ford dealer.

2 weeks later, I was able to do it without problem.

Unfortunately, I highly doubt that is the case. The IPMA update you are showing has everything needed for BC 1.4 "hidden" inside of, but Ford did not include the config to activate the features. In addition to that, for any vehicle like yours that has BC 1.0, there is no option in the APIM to turn on lane change assist, predictive speed, or auto lane repositioning, so you would most likely need an APIM update, too. It goes beyond my scope of knowledge if there is a way for Ford get the config needed for BC 1.4 to work to the IPMA without yet another IPMA update.
So are you saying that if those of us on BC 1.0 update just the IPMA, we would actually lose functionality until the APIM update appears?

No, not at all. Plenty of people have already installed the new IPMA update.

Mike, that IPMA update alone took almost 3 hours with all the pumps and fans running continuously. You definitely need the power supply hooked up on that one! Did your's take that long? Also, my SOBMD still hasn't cleared since last week either and I tried again today but it's still there.
My IPMA took 2-3/4 hrs start to finish. PSCM took 5 mins. And that SOBDM that wouldn't clear for me previously, was replaced by a full set of powertrain updates that arrived on the same day with the IPMA and PSCM...and those all cleared afterward. So I guess I'm good now.

I've just done all the powertrain updates on mine, and did not get any of them stuck in FDRS.

I did the PSCM which is done, and is currently churning through IPMA.

I can see it's currently pulling 40A from my supply....Thank goodness I bought a 50A supply :)

Just started the IPMA on a VCM 3 so I guess I have a couple of hours to wait......

@Mike G So Mike, this might be an interesting one for you to check....You should still have my VIN from a PM earlier I hope.

My IPMA fully updated in 32 minutes.......(I use a genuine VCM 3)

Let me know if you don't have my VIN, but have a look in FDRS....

I don't have the eye nanny (no BC), so maybe thats it?

PS: I have a permanent DTC for the reversing camera....getting that looked at Thursday...

I also now get a weird error when trying to clear DTC's from the powertrain updates.

It comes up with a message about refreshing the tests for SOBDM...e.tc, but refresh does nothing....

I just continued without refresh and cleared...

My FDRS is being bold right now and not letting me view session histories...even for my own vehicles ("Invalid Token, Unauthorized User").

I can see that your available list is now empty. So that's good. I also had a SOBDM that wouldn't clear about two weeks ago....until another set of powertrain updates came along and after those were done things were back to normal.

IPMA goes much faster on a genuine VCM 3 than a Mongoose cable. VCM 3 has faster chips.

My SOBDM cleared today however I seem to be missing the 1-Pedal drive option in all drive modes or has that been gone and I never noticed? 1-Pedal is working, just no option to turn off unless I select Undridle Extended. I only drive with it on but wanted to mention the option’s not there.

Tiny question that is off topic, but so many knowledgeable people on here and it’s the best place to ask.
I just put in an order for a 2024 Aviator (wife’s car), I was waiting for that platform to get onto sync 4, but I guess they deferred for reasons.

Question : Is the FDRS subscription any use on a sync 3 vehicle? Or no, that’s just the MachE / lightning and future Ford platforms that can receive updates via FDRS?

Thank you.

I did the powertrain and other updates today on my 2021 Job 1 RWD ER. The PSCM and IPMA were linked together. Everything cleared. IPMA took over 2 hours. Since PowerUp 7.0.0 or 7.0.1? has a two hour inhibit, I wonder if it is the IPMA update.

FDRS works for I think 2019 and above Ford cars. So Explorer, F150, Escape etc have modules to update just like the Mach E
