Hey guys, after performing several updates, now when driving, If someone pulls up too close to me or vice a versa there is an annoying tone with a camera pop up? How do I turn that off? Can't find it in settings.
That happens to me too but only if somebody gets really close...it's supposed to do that. How close are you to these obstacles when this happens? I can imagine it would be annoying if it was doing this when you're 10 feet away from something...but my car and truck only do it when something gets really close. Really close, like I could touch it close.

It's when I am in a-typical Atlanta traffic, or a stop light. So close but more than 6 feet.

Okay folks, this morning I had no "Stack overflow on line 1" error, and after hitting the Sign In button there was a seconds long delay but it did log me on without issue.

It looks like whatever the problem was got fixed. And it didn't take a new revision to do it. I'm still on 40.4.5.

I decided to apply the power train updates today. Seems like they are not causing 1PD faults anymore.

I get everything hooked up and pick the PCM and notice that it does not appear my power supply is supplying power. I have a second so I connected it and it also did not seem to be supplying power. I ended up removing and reconnecting the cables to the jump points and it started working. I think I had not firmly connected to the positive point.

I was not too worried because the power train updates apply quickly and with a fully charged 12v the power supply is just insurance in this case.

Then the SOBDMC programmed.

Then the BECM. This is where it got interesting again. After confirming a power supply was attached and that I had turned the car to ignition on engine off it immediately reported that reprogramming failed. At this point the car was in the mode where the start button is disabled and all the pumps are going full speed. FDRS asked me if I wanted to retry, I said yes, and it said to turn the car to ignition on engine off. Well the start button is not lit up at all and the pumps are going full speed so I just said yes I did that. It then completed programming and configuring without issue.

The last module programmed in the series was the ABS which went fine.

It's always interesting using FDRS, never the same twice.

I found that after applying the 1PD / Drive Mode software update fix, the Drive Mode still defaults to ENGAGED but nowhere near as much as before. Maybe a 70% reduction, which is a lot better than before.

Ok. Got all the equipment and have my plan of attack to do my first FDRS experience. I will be buying the 2 day license tomorrow (Friday of Memorial day weekend). One of the questions I have is with my power supply, it has a range of 12-15v? While doing updates that require the power supply should it be set to 12v. I thought I've read somewhere that it should be set for the 13.4v range but can't find the post. What setting does everyone use?

I suggest you go to the very 1st post in this thread and follow its steps. I think your question might be covered there or in the posts immediately after.

So something caught my eye the other day. I believe it was on the TSB for that OTA update that messed up the driver camera. It said to not connect the battery charger to the negative terminal, but to an alternate ground spot on the car so that the battery wouldn't enter some kind of low power mode. So should we not be connecting the charger to the negative post under the paneling?

Edit: found the wording

Service Procedure
1. Connect a battery charger to the 12-volt battery.
NOTE: To prevent the battery saver mode from activating on the vehicle, make sure the negative cable of the charger is installed on a chassis ground and not the 12-volt battery negative terminal. Do not have the vehicle plugged into the high voltage battery charger during programming. This can cause incorrect module programming. Make sure only the 12-volt battery charger is installed.

Yup. This has been preached since the beginning. Ford even gives us a negative post specifically for this purpose.

Correct, do not connect the battery charger/maintainer to the battery's negative terminal. It has a sensor on it that can mess things up. Connect to the negative post that is under the plastic cover.

Trying to login to FDRS for the first time. I have the license applied and when I try to login it gives me this error:

When I run the network tests:

Is there something special I have to do?
