Lyriq was about $48.5 (I'll get the State and Federal tax credits, too). Good price, but I know I'll come back to Ford eventually. I've owned 3 trucks and the Mach-e—all dearly loved.
i thought you had to own the vehicle for three years before you could qualify for the tax credit a second time. Is that not true?

Could be. I know very little about them other than what I recently saw on a trip to the mainland. It had Carplay. What the rest of the Silverados had is another story. Buying an EV Silverado is not in the cards for me anyway — even if I was inclined to buy a non-carplay vehicle. I already have a car that the only dealer on the island refuses to support and which @Ford Motor Company has washed their hands of, I'm not about to add a Chevy EV to that list. Spoiler Alert: The Chevy dealer here is owned by the distributor for Toyota out here. And we know about Toyota and BEVs.
Just out of curiosity why won't they support your vehicle? Or what won't they support?

With the Chevy bolt (also GM), starting the car from your phone was free for 5 or 8 years. I forget which. I was surprised that Ford gives it away for free/lifetime... until I realized that in order to enable it, you ALSO have to enable the car reporting all kinds of data back to Ford. So, you're trading certain "anonymized" data for that access.

At least until AT&T shuts down their 4G/LTE network. Then I guess none of it will work anymore.
My 2014 FFE came with a modem that I had to replace because the FCC was changing frequency bands for the networks. My sister bought my Fusion and recently paid her Ford dealer to put a current modem in it. Obviously, this kind of retrofitting can’t happen indefinitely, but the connected features can live through a pretty long time. Once they’re done we are back to the horse and buggy days. ??

I’m trying to think back what year it was I was riding motorcycles at the time, I was at the Harley dealer and someone had a white Chevy volt in the parking lot on display and I think I remember them saying they could drive about 700 miles on that it was about $45,000 trying to remember the year but not sure. I thought that was the first one that came out.
Theres a movie called Who Killed the Electric Car. All about the ev-1. That was the first time I ever heard of Tesla also.

I had a deposit down for a ‘24 Lyriq 6 months ago. I was really impressed with the car. Decided to go with the GTPE at the time because:

(1) No Lyriq available and no ETA
(2) I decided after 12 years of owning a Volvo station wagon and kids on their way to being grown, I wanted something more fun to drive
(3) despite being close in sticker price, incentives and 0% financing made the Mache almost $17k cheaper
(4) I didn’t want to deal with early manufacturing issues, and I figured the 2023.5 Mach-E had them worked out.
(5) I didn’t want to pay GM that big monthly fee for data plan

I honestly don't understand why Ford is using "last generation" modems in their cars. Maybe the parts were just cheaper and some bean counter decided that the LTE networks would be around "long enough."

They probably signed a contract for a half million units with a supplier. Now they have to put them somewhere. We get the dregs. ??

I traded in my Mach-e for a 2023 Cadillac Lyriq. I was lucky to be able to purchase a demo model. So far I miss the puddle lights and I really miss PAAK. I was afraid I was going to have to give up one-pedal, but fortunately the Lyriq's one-pedal driving works really well.

I hope that when I next purchase a Mach-e that there are significant improvements.
I’m 53 and consider myself too young to buy a Cadillac

My car, an early 2021 job 1, has three NHTSA safety recalls. There is one dealer on this island, they sold me the car brand new. They’re steadfastly refusing to do the HVBJB recall and have stated too both me and Ford corporate personnel that they will not do the recall as they’re to busy with Lightnings to work on an mme and don’t foresee any point in the future where they could perform the recall. For the other two recalls they just refuse. They’ve told me to talk to Ford as it’s not their problem.

A complaint was filed with the NHTSA. Ford, at various levels and offices, has gotten involved. Neither Ford, nor the NHTSA has been able to make the dealer budge. It’s my understanding that there were allocation cuts to the dealer for this year because of this. The answer is still no.

My options are to sell or sue. Neither are good options;

I was out looking at i4's this past week. The BMW dealer has a local reputation for being all-in on EVs. That's the plus. The minus? No frunk. Yet another game killer. :)
We have an i4 40eDrive (RWD 18" wheels) as well as our MME. I love them both. The i4 is quieter, has a bit more range and drives like a BMW!
