Booomer. My first (and best) Cadillac was a ‘69. ??
I was wondering that. My experience is that my generation (X) always looked at Cadillacs and Lincolns as their dad’s cars.

I don’t understand the frunk obsession. I still haven’t figured out what to store in that plastic tub that has no insulation and gets pretty hot while driving. I imagine anything I put in there will slide and bounce around lot as well.
To each their own. We have both a Rivian R1S and the MME and we use the frunks. My wife, who is the primary driver of the MME, has stuffed the frunk with things like a folding lawn chair, a yoga mat, emergency kits and other stuff. I, on the other hand, use the front for my kids, backpacks, for takeout, for groceries and also when I go shopping and I don’t want people to be able to see what I purchased. I also have a jack, breaker bar and some other tire and wheel equipment in there because the front is so large. it makes it less likely here that someone would break in. When I was looking at one of the Volvo EVs, the salesman laughed at me when I mentioned that the frunk was so small.

I traded in my Mach-e for a 2023 Cadillac Lyriq. I was lucky to be able to purchase a demo model. So far I miss the puddle lights and I really miss PAAK. I was afraid I was going to have to give up one-pedal, but fortunately the Lyriq's one-pedal driving works really well.

I hope that when I next purchase a Mach-e that there are significant improvements.
Curious about your MachE complaints.

We sold our TESLA Model 3 to get ours and find it far superior.

Per reviews, the Lyriq is 'bent' in the direction of luxury/comfort, while the MME in the direction of roadability and sportiness. Are you finding this true? I suspect we would all appreciate a longer review and comparison of the two vehicles.
I agree that a comparo would be appropriated by many of us. I would really appreciate a smoother, quieter ride, for example. But don’t know what I would be gaining (or losing) by making that trade. Details would be great.

How many kids are you able to store in there? How big are they? Aren't you concerned that they'll bounce around when you turn and/or hit bumps?

I hope you supply more comparisons of the two cars before your memory goes bad.
Why do you miss PAAK?
How do they compare on the road?
Does it have Carplay?
How are over-the-air updates?
Is the inside done well?
How does the roominess compare?
Which car is better?
Etc.

Agreed. That is a non-starter for me, even though Ford's is not very dependable, we have they keypad that gets us out of trouble when PAAK does not work.
I see what you did there...

LOL and yet some of those “dad’s cars” run 10s. Or quicker. Cadillac Motorsports Developnent built a lot of them. ??

saw a lyriq recently. was coming up on it on the 405 freeway and noticed the weird sequential signal lights, one horizontal and then vertical line but not connected. thought it looked really weird and not very elegant compared to our mach-e's sequential lights. thought it might be some hyundai or something. was a bit disappointed to find out it's a lyriq....

They weigh more if you tie them together first. Otherwise they just keep bouncing all over.

Well, without phone-as-key, you can't start the car with phone... hence "non-starter"...
Ah, hahaha, no pun intended honestly. I just realized it now because you just told me.

I’ll try. I didn’t buy the Lyriq necessarily because I think it’s a better car. For me, it’s about the deal. I enjoy trying different cars, too. I‘ve been reading about the Macan 4 (doesn’t have one pedal).

I miss PAAK because I have to remember the key fob every time I drive, and the fob is one more thing I have to carry in my pocket.

The ride in the Lyriq is more comfortable. I read that it’s 1300 lb. heavier. OTOH, I think it looks and feels like most other mid-size SUV’s. It doesn’t have the sporty look and feel of the Mach-e.

I like the way cruise control works in the Mach-e better. When I push the cruise button my speed is set; it’s a two step process in the Lyriq.

When I first drove the Lyriq on the freeway, I was impressed with the acceleration—I looked down, and suddenly I was doing 90.

I would say the inside is plush, but I have little experience with luxury cars.

The retractable shade is nice, but it wouldn’t influence me as a perk over the Mach-e.

This 2023 Lyriq has CarPlay, and it works very well. I am like others who say CP is a must.

I tried to do over-the air updates, but the car is up-to-date. I have to take the car in for an update that supposedly only the dealer can do. The speed limit icon is supposed to display all the time. It doesn't, but I’m told that an update I can’t do myself will fix it.

I don’t think one car is better than the other. They are just different.

I have to go to breakfast now. I will look later and see if there’s something I should have included. some of these ideas are my subjective opinions.

The Lyriq feels roomier. When I lay the backseats down to haul dogs, the resulting space is maybe 4 inches longer. The back window doesn’t slope as much as in the Mach-e, so there is more dog room there too.

The Lyriq doesn’t have a frunk, but there is adequate storage space. There is no spare tire or even a tire kit in the compartment under the back floorboards, so I can use that for storage. I am older, so I have changed a lot of flat tires in my life. I am uncomfortable (even with self-repairing tires) accepting on faith that there will always be someone nearby to help in the event of a flat.

My wife likes that there is ample space for a purse in the front seat area.
