I just realized the trunk open button can also be used to close the trunk too.
(Which makes me wonder why redundant/duplicate buttons !)

Don’t worry, Ford already took care of that and got rid of the lower button on new models…

The lower one was easier to reach and lighted, which was too convenient.

The center button is the only one accessible when the trunk is closed. The other button is LIT, and more visible and easy to reach when the trunk is open.

Personally, I use the one that was removed from later models all the time. I almost bought a new 2024 and I was missing that button just thinking about it being gone. Deal-breaker?.

We use our kick to open all the time. When people say "I can't make it work", I usually think "yeah, no surprise there". ?

The fact that this isn't a feature anymore would have me considering not buying a Mach-E if I was in the market. But I don't expect to be in the market for a Mach-E again.

Now consider that Ford provided two physical buttons trunk buttons… but neither of them are in the cabin within reach of the driver.

The Mach E is a beautiful car, but there are a few decisions which just defy any logic or common sense. Like a woman!

Although they can both close the trunk, the one on the left can be used to set the height it opens to by placing the trunk at the max height you want, then holding the button down till the car beeps.

lol....this is my question....nothing in the cabin to release the hatch? If so, that is a head-scratcher....?

Also comical...I was searching the owners manual in the center screen, and entered "Home Link".... no search results found! Enter "garage door", and the first thing that popped up was Home Link info.... ??

Tap the settings icon on the Sync screen. It’s right there.
