Don't know if you tested it but does the parking brake turn off automatically when you put the vehicle in Drive?

seats down yes seats up I do not know sir. I didn't really check. The ford mache mats also are nice guys. Very heavy I was pleased with them. I'm very sorry guys I could have took some items and checks the space. I was so excited to drive it again. But hybrid can check that out for you all.
He should be the ideal person to ask. He went to IKEA yesterday.

Yes. Page 181 of one of the manuals:

Somewhat bizarrely, in my 2013 Fusion Energi, this happens shifting to D and moving but not shifting to R and moving. The manual doesn't really make that point clear (I just checked); it's something I learned from experience.

My i3 requires your seatbelt to be fastened before it'll automatically release the parking break.

I just wish it would automatically engage the parking break when shifting back into Park... I think the Mach-E will let you do this, right?

page 172 says it will, "on large slopes." Not clear to me exactly what that means. (What's a "large slope"? how does it even know?)

I know some GM vehicles (for instance) have an "auto-brake" option that I've used on rentals. Given that an EV doesn't have a traditional transmission, I don't know how important "brake every time you park" actually is? In a traditional ICE vehicle my understanding has always been that for a manual transmission, it's to avoid unnecessary strain on 1st or Reverse (depending on which way you leave the car), and in an automatic transmission, it's to avoid unnecessary strain on the parking pawl.

It annoys my GF that I always use the brake because she never does, so I have to remember to not use it when I know she will be driving the car next. It's just a habit I have from my manual transmission days.

It does mean a couple of times in the Fusion Energi, when my 12V battery is on the line between "good" and "dead", the brake has gotten stuck and the electronic release has failed with a scary dashboard message - I now know if I get that message, it's 12V replacement time!

Cool, thanks for the info. My Stinger releases just automatically on shifting to either D or R but my wife's Palisade only turns off when you tape the accelerator (and if seat belt is on).

My father was a HUGE stickler for always using the parking brake, it's just engrained into me now, so I'm a bit anal about making sure it's pulled/on. With auto-release, I see no reason to not using the parking brake, so I wish it'd just automatically apply it in all situations (or at least give us the option to enable this).

Yep. It seems like there's no reason to make it manual at all.

I wonder what simply putting it in P "gear" does? Is it just engaged to the motor(s), and if they slip, the car rolls? Are there other brakes or clamps that get engaged? And what extra level of hold does the electronic parking brake add? I suspect it's all quite a bit different than we're used to in ICE cars that still have a physical cable system.

My 2013 Fusion hybrid releases the emergency brake automatically in either drive or reverse. I’m not sure why yours is different.

Will be doing our third test drive Wednesday. More pics and videos to come. Anything you guys would like to see or test?
I'd like to see how long it takes to "auto pilot" resume from a full stop behind a car, without having to hit the button or pedal to resume. usually it is pretty short, in the 5-30 second range.

also, if possible, what is the method they use for increasing auto pilot speed by 1 mph vs 5 mph increments. Sometimes that is done by holding button down vs a quick push.

and thanks!

Here is the shocker I told him about the mache gt performance and what the specs on it were. When all was said and done and we got back to the dealer. my nephew who is a tesla fanboy placed his reservation for a mache gt. He liked the way it drove that much. I was proud and happy and it was a good moment for me.

Is he going for the performance edition or the standard GT?

Since you’re getting multiple turns with it, I’m interested in knowing if there are any quirks that weren’t obvious the first time you got in and that we should be mindful of when we get a chance to test drive it to see if it bothers us or not.

Not looking for reasons to criticize the car, but at this point, super excited to get the Mach-E and maybe that’s not the best place to have your head at before going to the dealership to decide if you really wanna pull the trigger on a purchase of this size!

The first time driving much of the info system was not working. This time it was. Driving was not different both were AWD EXT range.
