I know the pros and cons of reduced range in the winter but my RWD ER has taken a proper hit.

Estimated mileage (shortly after reset) - 227@ 100%

Miles/KWh - between 1.9 and 2.7 depending on preconditioning.

Just wondered if this is what everyone else is seeing and what I should expect or is something wrong?

TIA
I'm experiencing the same thing, so don't think it's anything you're doing wrong. I charged up to 100% at the weekend, reset, and it showed 340 miles range, which quickly reduced to 240 miles after a few miles of urban driving with heat set to 21C.

The e-heat definitely eats into the efficiency into a big way. It's one of the reasons I went for the bigger battery, knowing there would be a hit to the range during the winter months.

When we had the really cold spell last week like you my range indicator became extremely pessimistic and dropped to 220 for a 100% charge - avg 2.5m/kWh (I’m a RWD ER like you)

That said I’m 100% sure I would have got more miles than it was quoting though if I’d have kept a log.

I don’t have a home charger becuase of where I live (so can’t precondition) but as an experiment I switched to from ā€œUnhingedā€œ to ā€œActiveā€œ, turned off the cabin heating, and put the heated seat on Auto. My car is now saying 287 for 100% (avg 3.2m/kWh) With just city driving I could easily get that up to 300.

So yeah the cabin heater is an energy vampire, but if doing everyday short trips I’d prefer to drive in comfort and take the efficiency hit rather than be cold. :)

So short answer is I’d say your car is reporting the same as mine.

I am having strange problems with the pre-heating on my RWD standard range Mach E.
I can set departure times and as long as the car ISN'T plugged in, it heats up perfectly before I depart. However, if the car IS plugged in then it refuses to heat up. Is this a known issue? The app keeps defaulting back to Detroit time and I keep pressing the radio button to set it back to UK time and that clearly works as it heats-up correctly at UK time zone when not plugged in. Just a note, when it is plugged in, it is not charging at that time because I set my pod-point to only charge at night. Help appreciated as Ford Mach E's response was to take it in to a dealer for service and they are completely unhelpful.

I recevied a letter telling me about a recall for the glass windscreen and that I would hear more in the coming weeks. I haven't heard anything and the Ford website says that my car doesn't have any recalls due when I log in. Anyone else?

Your Mach-E apears to be acting in reverse to mine. My Mach-E doesn’t preheat on departure unless it is plugged in ?
I thought you couldn’t preheat departure unless it is plugged in.
Can anyone confirm this?

Emailed Hannah about the electronic Frunk missing from 1.7.1. This is her reply:

I have spoken with the Connectivity team regarding the opening of the Frunk button, and I can confirm we are expecting to deploy this in the future, however we do not currently have a timescale of when this functionality will be activated for you.

So, at least it’s coming. ????
It's coming... but when? 2030???
Like the promise to up the fast charge limit to 90% "ready for winter" - I bet we won't see that for this winter! That's something I could really do with due to the much reduced winter range.

Yes I think we've all had that. Nothing for us to do at the moment, and wait for the dealers to get in touch. I don't think they've done the training yet for this task, so would not expect anything soon. TBH I'd rather not have my dealer mess around with my windscreen and roof...

So this can’t be done over OTA but has to be done at the dealers?
Currently, it can only be done using dealer tools.

There is a thread currently running about beta versions of Forscan being able to update the modules (A much cheaper alternative to FDRS)

Well done Ford.

Edit - 03/12/2021. Now working. My oil life is still 100% :rolleyes:o_O? I was hoping this would be fixed if the site was down for maintenance.

I permanently have it. Did you want me to check your VIN..? If so PM me and I’ll screenshot it for you. I’m off to skittles now so may be tomorrow.
Hi Proximus :)

Would you mind looking up my VIN if I PM you? Mine's going in on 13th December for software updates which in theory should fix no lights on approach and no interior lights when in the car. They said it could take 6 hours so I'm hoping they'll carry out all outstanding software updates.

Thanks.
