I’ve been reliably informed by people in Ford today that from this week there are no new UK orders being taken unless they are being drawn from already built stock. Once that stock has been exhausted there will not be any more available this year (this applies to all Mach-E models and from what I can see there’s just 2022 AWD Space White and 2021 AWD Absolute Black models remaining)

This mirrors the situation for US customers where some models became unavailable for ordering back in Feb.

UK Orders will probably re-start in October 2022 for the 2023 models that will begin batch production in late Dec 2022 / Jan 2023 (delivering from April / May 2023)

So if you’ve got a recent confirmed retail order (not fleet) - hang in there for a delivery around mid Summer / Autumn time. I don’t know what the fleet/lease stock situation is like but I can hazard a guess there won’t be many of those available either.

And just in case you were wondering what happens if you try to order online…. You can still configure & build a new Mach-E using the website, but when it gets to the end it will only generate a sales lead form to send to you desired dealer, and not a full web order for checkout. :(
Appreciate the info, i’d been working on an October / November delivery based on what i’d seen on various sites, etc ( which might be around the time I can get mY home charger gets fitted *sigh* ).

Can I ask where you see it in the App?
Are your brakes the same? Mine were very touchy (emergency stop when you just touched them) then went a lot better. Now they are back to emergency stop. ?
Press vehicle at the bottom, then futures and settings, then software update, Then recent changes.
My screen is a bit funny ( can’t stop the heater, don’t show tyre pressure ) then next when driving around everything is ok.

Hi all

Drove back from Stanstead airport last night and for the first time noticed how bad the charging network is on way out of London on M4. Each of the first 4 services on the M4 had both gridserve chargers in use with a queue of at least 2 cars. The banks of Tesla chargers were virtually empty. Luckily with my new found range since the update I had enough to get to the wonderful chippenham truck stop where I was the only one on their 4 ionity chargers.

Does anyone know when we are going to be able to use the tesla superchargers like some areas of Europe as every time I see a tesla on a css charger in rural areas where there are no superchargers it makes my blood boil?

Ps Felt a lot better when I completed my car tax form costing me £0 though that will obviously change in the future

Seems that the Tesla Pilot scheme is currently only for France, Norway and The Netherlands. Whether this applies to every Tesla station I have no idea. There is no mention of when the scheme will be available in the U.K. I certainly hope it is soon as the Tesla network looks amazing. I really cannot understand why Gridserve and other charging providers only have one or two charge stations at motorway services. All motorway services have a petrol/diesel station, so why not also have a bank of at least 8 fast charge points as well. Maybe this will come. MFG EV power are really good overall as they typically have 8 fast charge points, but can be a little way off the motorway.

Zap Map is pretty good as you can set filters for different providers etc. At the top of the filter page you can use the slider to set the minimum ‘Power type’, i.e. Set to 100kW only shows charge stations 100kW and above. For the M4 you’ll find some charge station options at Newbury, Swindon and on the edge of London.

If you read the blurb from Gridserve and various other dedicated EV publications/websites you will find out the answer to your question regarding charge points. As you may (or not) be aware Gridserve took over the charge points from Ecotricity at their motorway services. The big issue is the amount of power that comes into the site. Where they have been able to, they have increased the amount of chargepoints based on the power available. If the additional power isn't available then they have installed as many as they can. If it has been cost effective, ie the nearest substation is easily accessable and no to far away then they have upgraded the power grid. If they have to dig up miles of distance to lay new cable the cost is probably not worth it at this stage. As an example, Winchester North services has 2 x 60Kw/h charge points. This is because they are limited on power. They could have put a 150Kw/h charger in but not many cars will charge at that speed so they decided to put 2 lesser power chargers in so thy can double the charge points with speeds that the vast majority of cars will accept. Sensible thinking in my eyes. As and when the power lines can be upgraded I am sure more will be installed.

You are right, one Gridserve charger was enough 5 years ago. With 10% or 16% of cars being sold in the UK being electric, they need much more.

Another thing I'm having a problem with is the Mach-E 'widget' Any phone guru's on here who can help me out?
The App (Android) loaded & worked 1st time ie no problems with the the App itself only that FordPass itself does not update when asked ie pulling down the screen to update, it worked on the first MME & for about 2 weeks with the new MME, now it only updates if you use the car or remote start it for a few seconds so the App is rarely up-to-date, does give more update info on the OTA updates than FordPass though. Also shows the other half's car. So many thanks to Kennelh for the work put in.
(PS As I took screenshots the app shows a new update is available)

Yes indeed, but poor long term planning. It has been inevitable for years that there will be more and more EV’s populating our roads. Tesla did a pretty good job at putting a very nice infrastructure in place.

Just a quick update re my OTA problems. My service manager (Vospers Ford at Plymouth) e-mailed me this morning- they are going to carry out TSB 22-2150 to clear the system and apply all up to date OTA's. He just needs to confirm when the Mach-E demo car is available for my use!

Great Tony. That should sort your problem once and for all. It did for me. Good luck.

MME RR ER RWD ?

Hi David, what did Dinnages give you as a courtesy car? I'm considering them as a possibility for my windscreen recall...
Hi Stephen,

Apologies for the delay - just back from our long weekend in Devon - all went really well (more on that later)

I had a grey AWD ER 71 plate - very nice ? ... albeit prefer my Rapid Red RWD, and the extra miles!

Definitely worth giving them a call, although I know they are busy scheduling the recalls in.

Cheers,
David

New UK Recall issued… sorry I mean “Customer Service Program” ;)

Was your Mach-E built between 24/02/2020 and 19/03/2021 ?

If so - congratulations - you got another recall coming your way!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news - but a fault has been identified in Mach-E’s made between the above dates where the regenerative braking system may cause an issue when used on a long downhill stretch.

For those of you that have been around these parts a while you’ll probably remember some of the early customer cars in Norway having an issue when driving down the Eagle Road to Geiranger (link) While an OTA fix was promised at the time - looks like there are some additional mechanical bits that need tweaking as well.

Full details in the Dealer Memo / Service Bulletin / Customer letter attached below…

(also pay special note to the four “White glove” instructions given to the dealers in the Service instructions!)
Hi @Wonky_Donkey

Thanks for this - just got mine back last week after the roof/windscreen/software recalls (all good from my dealer), and as mine was end November 2020 looks like another one ? but never mind!

I can remember those posts - caused quite a stir if I recall ?

Cheers
David

It’s finally arrived! ?

…and it has a hands free boot, power fold mirrors, and a Varicharger cable ? (All the stuff I was worried might be missing due to chip shortages)

Update on mine... got a call from the dealer today saying they'll be delivering my MME Monday 23rd May as they're so far away from my location. Very happy and it's going to be a long weekend for sure! ? - let us know when you've picked yours up today (i assume this is still happening?)

One thing i wanted to ask, and i'm aware that a lot of tips / tricks have been posted, but i'd like to get some advice on 'new MME owner' type things that you guys might be willing to pass on?

Things like settings and basics new owners would benefit from knowing etc (basically stuff you wish you knew when you first got your MME's), just so i can get the best start possible when she arrives.

Incidentally, i've settled on the name 'Stella', purely due to the 'Space White' element haha.

Any advice, tips or tricks would be welcome - just can't wait to get her out on the road now, it has been a long wait!

Thanks guys.

I don’t think the affected vehicles have been flagged in PTS/OASIS yet. :(
