I thought of a obd2 mounted one. Only problem is that if someone nicks the car they can dispose of it
After about 2 years of ownership! under the Kuga's driver seat I found a little square piece of carpet style mat that you can remove and hide stuff under. I put it there with the usb cable going to the rear usb port. Almost unnoticeable and would have a good chance of it not being immediately spotted.

Also worth noting that robbing scum apparently take a car and then leave it down a street for a day or 2 to ensure no tracker is in it. Then they come back and take it to be fenced.

So that's where the tracker can come in. But you have to recover the car in that time period - assuming you'd want to!

The only thing I’m planning on doing is getting a faraday pouch for the keys just to be on the safe side to stop them being scanned.
Other than that I’ll just stay up every night admiring my car through the window so that should be enough!?
We use faraday pouches for our Renault Zoe fobs. Pretty cheap and good piece of mind. We got them on Amazon for £7.99 for a pair (and they work, we tested them to be sure :) )

you can just wrap the fobs in tinfoil if you want to go super cheap…. ?

I used this when my stolen benz was replaced with a new one by the insurance company. I also bought a pair from Amazon. Both were tested and worked when I first got them . About a year into using it, one stopped working . It was quite by accident that I found out it wasn’t working . It’s not something you’d think to test every so often , it either works or it doesn’t ..or so I thought. Anyway good to hear about the motion sensor on the key fob….. as long as it works

That is a very handy little hiding place. Used it a lot. And not many people knew about it

Top tip about the tinfoil!

Plus you could shape the tinfoil into a Mustang pony when not in use!?

Can someone enlighten me why you use a faraday pouch for the keys I am not up to speed with the latest car theft methods and am completely lost with all this and wonder whether this is something I need to think about.

Faraday pouch blocks your key signal so tealeafs can't boost the signal and start your car. Bit like a wallet that protects your cards from being scanned electronically

LOOKS LIKE D - DAY IS GOING TO BE WEDNESDAY. This is going to be an agonising few days. Just hope that Ford are delivering the right car. I wouldn't put that past them.

they have to be close to your keys. they use expensive equipment to do this.

this is organised crime. planned and often stolen to order.

outside cameras are as you can see not much use.

a steering wheel lock could have been.

putting your keys in a tin box when you go to bed would be sufficient. go to a supermarket and get one of those small coffee tins etc and it's sorted.

YIPPEE. Just had a phone call. My car should be delivered to my dealer today. ???
Thats fantastic news. On a personal note Grahame, I'm so happy that you will be one of the first to receive your car. You have been a constant source of information to all of us on here and (even with your occasional understandable wobbles), have been one of the few voice of reasons keeping us all grounded in this painful process!
