Well done Ford.

Just tried it (W10pro, chrome). Does the same! Must mean something to someone- total gibberish to me...

Well- had an interesting couple of days. Long post- sorry!

Dropped my car off to my dealer to have a dash cam fitted (Ford supplied and paid for by me when I paid for the car back in August) plus to have the tailgate adjusted as it had been badly fitted in the factory, and finally for all the software updates to be applied.

Got a phone call mid morning to say it was ready. Jumped in their Mach-e they loaned me and drove the 33 miles to the dealer.

When I arrived they told me they couldn't fit the dash cam as it wasn't compatible with the car  . The problem with this is they tried once before to fit it and said the wiring harness was incorrect. Ford provided them another and it still wouldn't fit! Turns out that they had been sent a camera and harness for sync3 systems not sync4! Now this wasn't the dealers fault but Ford's for sending incorrect parts. Ford Technical dept are investigating to see what if anything, will fit. I suspect that I'll end up being given a refund. Then I'll have to find an auto electrician to fit a dash cam. I asked in Halfords on the way home but it seems it's unlikely they can do it. In fact they were very helpful, more than my dealer was ...

Happily they realigned the tailgate nicely- not perfectly but as the receptionist said they're all a bit wonky. We had a look at every Mach-E there (and they have a few including a GT in Grabber blue if anyone is interested) and every one of them had a misaligned tailgate!!! Mine is now amonst the best- how hard can it be to get this right in the factory?

And finally, the dealer software update- that's where the problems came to light :(

Drove down the A38 to go home, all well- the sat nav graphics looked subtly better- stopped off at Bodmin to do the weekly shop and call into Halfords. When I got back to the car and started it the centre screen was blank, nothing at all. Tried restarting, no joy. Then I remembered the trick with the Volume and track selector on the steering wheel. Did that and Yippee! The screen started up. Shortlived joy sadly. I have the screen set to light and the instrument display to dark. Now the centre screen is now a dull grey-totally illegible to me, very dull and no contrast. Of no use to mankind whatsoever.

Needless to say I phoned up the service dept when I got home and calmed down a bit. They are going to speak with Ford technical and get me back asap. Hopefully for a while I wait fix, or else I'll leave it as long as I can have a Mach-E loaner and not a Fiesta. I did ask about me doing a master reset (happy to give it a try). The receptionist I spoke to called me back 5 mins later to say she had spoken to the service manager and he basically said to try a reset as it may work.

So wish me luck- tomorrow morning I have an appointment with the reset button ?

(unless any of you know better?) ...

Try adjusting the brightness controls down by the headlight switch (by your right knee). See what that does

And it continues to be interesting! Switched the car on and it seemed ok (although in nighttime mode) changed that to light and it went to a nice bright screen, not the muddy POS it was earlier, despite restarting a few times. The brightness control by the lightswitch only works on the drivers display I discovered.

These cars seem to be a living creature- always changing to entertain you!

I recevied a letter telling me about a recall for the glass windscreen and that I would hear more in the coming weeks. I haven't heard anything and the Ford website says that my car doesn't have any recalls due when I log in. Anyone else?
Same here. My car isn't showing any recalls either on My account on Ford's website, etis website OR my dealers system. We wont hear anything from Ford until, a) they have sorted out who is going to do the recall, b) they have sorted out who is going to pay for a new windscreen/pano roof if either break/crack when being worked on and c) they have spare stock, just in case. If you believe the blurb from Ford it is ONLY an issue if you have an accident. SO DON'T HAVE AN ACCIDENT AND YOU SHOULD BE OK !!!!!! ? ?

Your Mach-E apears to be acting in reverse to mine. My Mach-E doesn’t preheat on departure unless it is plugged in ?
I thought you couldn’t preheat departure unless it is plugged in.
Can anyone confirm this?
If you go to the FordPass app, vehicle, departure time there is a button to allow start when vehicle is unplugged. I use it and it works fine.

You must be crazy wanting to put yourself through all that anguish AGAIN. However I wish you all the best and hope that your experience with this one is better than your current car. I suppose it can't be any worse. Can it????

Does this not only work if you manually press the start button on the app at the time? I thought scheduled departure was only available when plugged in.

Yes, mine is the reverse probem. It heats up when it is unplugged but not when it is plugged in!

No, it works perfectly when not plugged in. Got in my hot car at 7.45am this morning which wasn't plugged in. If it is plugged, then it doesn't heat up at all.

Mine works both ways. I plug it in at night to charge to 85% and to warm up for 0630 in the morning. Haven’t got a charger at work yet so the car is set as picture to warm up for 1630. I don't have to press the remote start button unless I want to condition outside these times. Although I find it easier to amend these timings.
