Is anyone using Think Ford in Guildford, just spoke to them, who can’t apparently see if an order is placed or anything to do with Mach E orders as they are being processed by a Ford UK Department and Think Ford won’t know anything or be able to check the order until the vehicle is on the way to them?

I think your dealer isn't very interested then. The initial deposit, although paid online, was paid into the dealers account and it has always been stated that our contract is with our nominated dealer. I think the biggest issue most of us have had is that the dealers haven't had much info from ford. Mine, and some others, had been getting good info from ours in the last couple of months. I dont understand why your dealer cant access your details. Your order should be on his vista system and should be able to give you some info at least. Having said that it would depend on when you placed your order.

I placed the order beginning of December, so only recent, nice for them to be able to acknowledge it though.

This is very common. I have had the same thing with Gates of St Albans. They just don't care.

This is the first that I've heard from my dealer about the delivery day - my Ford.co.uk site still says 20-23 weeks!

I also confirmed order on 11th of December. I've been chasing and chasing my dealer for updates with little success.
They cannot see my order form which they are meant to return to me within 2 weeks, but they can see the order is confirmed on the system.

I called and annoyed them again today trying to get a build date and my VIN. Whilst they cannot see a VIN to give me yet they were able to confirm build date for 8th February and ETA of 5th of June. If this is correct then this is 25 weeks! I had previously been told March delivery so this is twice the wait (a pair of earphones hardly makes up for this length of delay).

Mine's a Standard Range RWD.

He called to let me know my ETA for delivery was 10th April 2021. ?

These dates that we are being quoted do all seem to be a bit random. For those that are interested where I was in the pecking order....

Mine is very similar... same model different colour. I get more sense from the Ford Mach-e team direct at Ford in the UK. They seem to have more info than the dealers. They are based at Daventry I think.

I suspect they built a lot of RWD ER as that was the most popular choice so any cancellations would not be wasted effort.

For those in Scotland who are utilising the Home Energy Scotland grant from the Govt to pay for part of the car, have you had any luck in getting a letter with a quote from your dealer that the HES will accept? My dealer in Edinburgh is struggling to produce something so curious of anyone else has same problem. I tried submitting the online quote from the website but HES wouldn’t accept that. I was considering going for the HES loan but I haven’t heard of a grant. The loan was originally for up £35,000 and is now down to £28,000 which could be paid back over 6 years.

At that point, all they needed was a quote for the new vehicle on company headed paper along with application form. Not sure what has changed if anything.

Would be interested to know what grant they’re doing.

When I looked into it originally I did hear that the application process was a wee bit archaic. Since they’ve lowered the loan amount I’m going down another route.

Hey Guys,

The difference in dealership quality is insane!

As some of you may remember, after the disappointing delivery date estimate of 21/5/21 on my First Edition (Pre-ordered 18/11/19 - confirmed 11/12/20), I placed a completely new order with a different dealer for a RWD ER on 18/12/20.

The dealer for 2nd order (no pre-order made at all) has just called me to say the car is in production today with an indicated delivery date of 17/4. I'm flabbergasted.

I then called Rebecca on the concierge team to tell her. Her only explanation is that it is a cancelled pre-order that has been allocated to me as production was scheduled for ALL pre-orders made and Ford haven't waited for orders to be confirmed first.

She also told me that Ford US's "story" about the batches isn't quite correct as there seem to be a real mixture of drivetrains and battery sizes in each batch.

It looks pretty clear to me (and her) that pre-order dates have NOT been taken into account when production was scheduled but that they have "tried their best" to match pre-orders to the production cars as best as possible.

This is why the dates are all over the place.

She is still waiting for a production date for my First Edition and is incredibly embarrassed by the whole situation.

I can strongly recommend to anyone in the Hertfordshire area Hartnells in Hemel Hempstead if they wanted to change dealership (which is possible without losing your "place" in the queue).

I will keep you posted.
