So true. Even taking delivery of a car at a dealer is uncertain in certain areas (such as in CA) given lockdown orders. It’s not just getting cars shipped, but also ensuring dealer protocols are in place...

I can’t imagine sitting in an office with a financing rep for an hour sorting all of the paperwork out etc without COVID, let alone with the COVID environment we are in...
I believe many of them do that on the phone or on messenger or so, I'm not worried for now, the most important thing is like trutolife27 is mentionning Covid is the potential problem on all of the chain off supply that is the big concern and at the plant. Peoples health and life at the plant, suplliers and dealers are the most important.

4. Never been a fan of GM for a zillion reasons, and this is typical. They deserve all the heat they get. The minute Trump is out they switch sides. No principles at all.
I know exactly what you're talking about. It was so frustrating to see that they only seem to care about sucking up to whomever is currently in charge.
Take a stand.

I don't hate GM at all, but that's some really moral-less leadership. That will keep them always catching up.

andy can I call you andy?
Have a seat here. Now my brother nothing I said is about what is produced. They could have 10 made or 10,000.
What info I'm passing on is ford's goal is to try to have 3,500 shipped in the next 3 weeks. so from Monday (IF THE GET THINGS WORKED OUT) count 3 weeks and by that last second on the third week, 3,500 are loading and on the way.

Hope you can hang in there and wait for your mache. It's worth all the wait we all are having to accept. Nothing we are going to buy right now will be perfect. Hopefully, things will turn around.
Thanks for staying @trutolife27, your posts are always highly informative!

I did want to ask, based on your knowledge of how Ford’s logistics works, how likely would you say it is at this point that any MME’s make it to customers’ hands before the year is out, assuming there isn’t some further big covid restriction imposed (like the border getting completely shut)?

too many variables to say. Mexico could shut down tomorrow. Remember we are an United States. Even states can change things. It really is a what-if sorry cant say.

lol hold on see you guys are reading and saying things not out there,
No oktb is given. the mache is good to go again but the whole process is not ago. The hold us is shipping so if that is the hold-up, then we don't know how, when where they are shipping, what amount are dealers, what amount are customers. Hince shipping is the hold-up.
Once that is out then can pass on.
Gotcha, I must have misunderstood. Thanks for clarifying.

I've been reading and watching more about 800 volt systems and it sounds like it has a lot of promise for faster charging times. It was in the news this week with Hyundai's E-GMP announcement.

And bidirectional power is cool! You can power your house or the grid, or even give your buddy's EV some extra kWh to get home.

It will be great to see this get picked up quickly. Maybe mid-cycle refreshes on the MME and ID4. ?
And an optional heat pump for those living in cold country.

I am happy that everything with the car is g2g. I cant even imagine how hard its gojng to be to ship across the border with closures and preventative measures in place. Getting closer to the holidays will just make things worse with shippers and trucks busy with parcel shipping. I know Ford and everyone is trying hard. It sucks to say this but it might better for them to just wait. Its like ppl who pay for faster shipping but get it at the same time as free shipping, sometimes its not worth the cost.
There's two ways to look at that though. Many employees involved with the shipment of vehicles could be counting on that work to keep them employed during these difficult times. And I think much of the equipment and manpower involved is specific to vehicle loading/unloading/transport, not just generically shifted over to to packages.

Probably helping more people by keeping them employed. Especially this type of work which is mostly outdoors and distanced.

Looking forward to giving DC charging a tryout at the water company 2 miles away where it's 19 cents per kWh. I don't expect to use it except for road trips down to LA otherwise, but there may be more of those depending on how 2021 works out ;) Otherwise, gonna baby this thing with level 1 charges.

Does anyone have video of a DCFC session from inside and from outside a car? I'm curious now.
I assume you mean of the Mach-E specifically. No, there's a few one-time screenshots out there but not actual videos that show the overall charge curve. Dec 15 for that (when the reviews and other media info is allowed to be shown).

For other BEVs though, yes, plenty of videos out there.

Well just to point something even if the border is closed between Canada-US the goods are still circulating. It's to important for both countries and I believe it would be the case with Mexico. Those that are paying the price for those goods circulating are the truck drivers has nothing is organize for them if everything is shut down on both sides like restaurants and truck stops where they can only get fiuel.

That's the part I would be more interested in (car-to-car). A high-priced car battery seems like a poor choice for frequent home storage. Very infrequent power-outage backup, perhaps, but not routine storage. I wouldn't want to wear out my very expensive car battery faster.

But car-to-car rescue charges would be appealing.

My interpretation is that at this point OKTB green light or not is not that critical because the vehicles are fine , production is continuing and Ford is figuring out the shipping process.
Agreed!
