Nope, talking about getting home and parking the Explorer in the street, coming in the house an plopping the phone on the charger and having it unlock the Mustang siting outside the window in the driveway without me knowing.
I think this can be turned off

That's the max draw on the sticker of the Focus's heater?
No that is the dash display of HVAC power consumption while its running while warming up.

PaaK works just like your keyfob would - if having the keyfob in that same place hasn't been an issue before, it shouldn't be with PaaK.
I think it will be interesting to validate that. If I keep a keyfob and a phone hanging in a coat pocket inside my house on the wall adjacent to the garage about 6 feet away from the car, the car won't start, but BT will connect. BT actually has a much greater recognition distance.

Thanks; I understood to get a feel for max consumption the heaters rating sticker is a good starting point; add minor for fans and it should not draw more. A lot of them seem to be around 5 KW space heaters, have no idea for the mach-e but one would think it should be in the same ball park?

Jalopnik has an article from last year reviewing the Lincoln PaaK. The picture is pretty helpful -- assuming the sensors are similarly placed in the MME.

Seems like unless your coat rack is within about 3ft of a car door, the passive unlock feature won't work from Bluetooth. The ground lighting does come on within about 10ft ("embrace zone"), but I bet that times out after like 30 seconds or so.

Scroll all the way to the bottom of the article and the author posted an update that invalidates the main complaint the article was based on. Sounds cool, and I bet they have the security worked out such that unauthorized entry is not easy/accidental to happen.

So Ford Pass requires the modem (internet) and Phone as a Key needs bluetooth (implied).
That's what I figured, but just not sure if there were different apps as it makes it sound. That's gonna confuse people on the terminology.

But better than having separate apps, which would be annoying.

One of the videos showed the difference, but I can't remember which one. Basically, it showed a screen in the FordPass app for "basic" controls, which were over Bluetooth. Then you could drill into another screen for additional controls that were over cellular. If you're not within Bluetooth range, it may just skip right to the other screen. As long as the commands over cellular are quick, I'm not sure it will matter much which one it's using.

It will need to be closer than that to passively unlock.
the phones should be locked by password/face recognition. As such it cannot be used to open car. I think you have to actually open up the phone to make it work with the exception of the two preset timing setups.

Talk about jumping to the front of the line! I hope someone from the forum gets it. Hmmm, who picked G.Blue? @Mach-E VLOG

That would be a fun trip home. Way more fun than my first BEV trip of 1100 miles on L2 only.
