they are all in his shit on Facebook. It's like salt in the wound. No problem with the markup. But don't bring that to here. Then he came back with the, well make me an offer then. I hope the forum will keep dealers away from here like that.
Make me an offer....

Lol

Sorry can I say "fucker" on here...LOL

I know there is hype, there is demand and there is low availability, but no wonder many are called stealers rather than dealers. People should boycott them and wait until they lower their prices back to MSRP!

But that's just my 2 cents
just need to find some of the new $GME millionaires and get one to help you out. (*)

(*) this is a VERY time-specific post

At least they're only tacking on $5K ADM. I've seen two tack on $10K and one sold in a day.
And I really can't blame them. Basic supply & demand.

Plus it works both ways. When they're stuck with inventory that isn't as popular, they're on the opposite end of that equation, and the customer gets "reverse-ADM" out of it (a below MSRP price).

Fixed pricing is easier, and I often prefer it too. But if we switched to a fixed price model where dealers couldn't charge more than MSRP for in-demand vehicles, it would also need to eliminate below-MSRP pricing for lower-demand vehicles. No more $5000 discounts for an Edge or a Bolt.

Yea, ADMs... some age better than others. I remember the dealer nearby adding $20k to the PT Cruiser when they first came out. :D

I'm almost ready to pay ADM for a MME without that front bracket... don't tell my dealer.

Been really busy of late. I just want to take a moment and speak to all of you. I know the mache is going through a lot of delays. Covid yes, logistics yes, a new problem having some mache's testing in K.C. Some problems with suppliers again yes.

As consumers, it's not what we want to hear. You all have been waiting and hyping up the mache all the way since day one. I applaud you for that and really happy you all are still hanging in there for your mache.

If you can't I understand life happens. each day things change, jobs, family, maybe your lease is up. I get it. I just hope you all get what is best for you and your family.

The mache is worth the wait, you're going to love it. Just hold the line a little longer if you can.
You deserve a great car for all the extra waiting and with the mache, you're going to get it.

I pass on what info I can and hope you all can understand when other ford workers like myself can't tell more. Would we like to? Oh, we would love to talk and tell you all we could about ford.
When Farley came in it was like wow now we have someone to stand behind. Someone that is like one of the guys....... or girls.

My own story , on my Mache. I could have asked to have it moved up. I was like no the date is fine and I'm happy with everything so like the rest of you I said I can't wait. My original build date was December 18th or A.KA. the week of. Then moved to December 23rd, then to January 3rd then to January 8th and finally, it was built on January 14th but yes the ford tracker says January 15th lol go figure lol.

Still, mine has not shipped and it is still sitting there. Is there a reason yes time will tell why?
So just saying I'm here with you eating my popcorn, Wife is tired of hearing about the mache and all the videos, everyone is where is that car you was talking about.

Hang in there a little longer. I'm waiting with you and I hope you all get yours as quick as you can so one day who knows maybe there will be a mache fan club and we can all catch up on one day.

Except for the forum police some times he pulls people over for wrong reasons lol. Just joking here have a donut gogogadgetmache lol.

The mache is coming and when we all get it, the rest can #$%@ off.

???????????????

I really do appreciate your comments here and I agree with almost all of it. Just a few additional comments:

Yes, it isn't the end of the world, and I never had any intention of cancelling my order.

If Ford wants to be an online retailer, then they have to act like one. Communications with their customers is key. And that is their failure at this point.

I saw the second delay in my production schedule Tuesday morning. I just received an email from Ford telling me that the production date had changed 10 minutes ago - Thursday night! And it was not an apology with an explanation, the wording actually tries to spin it as a positive!

IMHO, if the production schedules have no real basis in reality, Ford should stop putting them on their sites. I should be shown on my order page that I am in pre-production status until the day the build actually begins. Then I should get an e-mail or text IMMEDIATELY telling me the good news!

How could I be angry that production was delayed two or three times, if I didn't know it?????

All the consultants and PR people on Ford's payroll, and no one thought of this?

And I have yet to see a Mach-E in the real world. There were no "Dealer Shows" of it in Florida. I still don't understand that. Plus, my Dealer's demo vehicle shows assembly in late November, but never left the plant and the status is "In Production". I am sure they are thrilled with that as well... But I have not heard from them either!

I now have a bet with my wife that our car will get here before the dealer demo car arrives!! That is kind of sad.....

This is the problem with the dealer allocation model. If Ford was selling direct, they'd have reallocated that car to someone on the list still waiting for the exact car and willing to take it (hint, like me... waits for car) and not wait for some unsuspecting guy to come in and get taken advantage of.

The dealer could contact the others in their ordered and waiting list with the same/similiar specs...

It sucks, but for someone without an order, I don’t think it’s necessarily the craziest move to make here to buy a marked up Mach-E that’s available today.

At least for the Premiums, Ford gave us the $3,000 price reduction break a while back. And if we take Options, that’s up to $2,500 off sticker when I thought we’d be paying full MSRP with a special order no matter how we structured the purchase. And at least for vehicles in California, residents now get the extra $1,500 California Fuel Reward discount, and this program only started late November 2020.

Anyway my point is Premium buyers in California are paying $7,000 less than they expected to when they reserved in November 2019 - a $5,000 to $10,000 ADM is not so unreasonable in this situation if the alternative is to wait for the better part of a year for a 2022 Mach-E to arrive with a new order made today.

Than again, easy for me to talk not having to face a situation with a dealer markup...

Must be nice... Texas EV $2500 rebate expired at the beginning of the year. Was officially counting on that, but thanks to the delays that's out of the picture now ... Plus wee only get $1000 off ford options here...

Sorry I'm enjoying a nice glass of "whine" right now ?

Yeah, but what the price was in 2019 is irrelevant to the equation today. It's the situation now that counts. For most buyers (i.e. where money seriously matters for them), that ADM is just throwing money away vs the alternative.

But... there are always some people rich enough that $5k-$10k is pretty insignificant, and thus it's a minor price (for them) to pay to get a Mach-E sooner. That's who ADM is really aimed at -- an attempt to find a "money doesn't matter" buyer. If they don't find one, they'll eventually lower or eliminate the ADM as the timing advantage dissipates.

If they can find one of those rich buyers, more power to em.

I agree, people who could afford to instead buy a Model X, eTron, I-Pace, etc., if they wanted one, but are drawn to the Mustang name and this vehicle’s style.

I don't like it one bit, and if my dealer did that I would find another, or get another brand.

In 2004, I was looking at a Chrysler Crossfire. They had an ADM of $10,000 added to it. The first thing I said to the salesman was "That comes off immediately". He told me that would be impossible and they were getting $15,000 ADM in Cleveland. I laughed and said that we were not in Cleveland, then got out of the chair to leave without another word. The manager of the dealership met me as I was at the door and said that the ADM was gone. I guess it depends upon how badly they want to move the car off the lot or how stupid people are with their money!
