One's person meh is another person's requirement honestly. To each their own of course, but from my old notes, I noted:

Select + Comfort / Technology Package vs Premium differences ($1,505)
19" Alum Wheels w/ High Gloss Black
Panoramic Fixed-Glass Roof
LED Projector Headlamps with Signature Lighting
B&O 10-Speaker Sound System

The Premium also lost the side acoustic glass due to supply issues I think vs. Select. Maybe the $1.5k wasn't worth it for you, but to me, it was a no brainer (and of course, this is personal preference...I suppose unless someone hated the glass roof or larger wheels, $1.5k in my build was an easy decision).

The grill also looks better on the Premium IMO (there's that plasticy piece on the Select I think). My price difference was probably when I ordered with 2021 pricing.
Absolutely, totally agree that everyone has their own priorities. They may not be as well represented in the forum, but there are plenty of us coming from vehicles where the Select with or with the tech package is quite the upgrade, and in addition for many that may be as much as we are willing to pay for a car at this stage. Given that folks who ordered a Premium at the same time as me are mostly still waiting for their cars, and some even got rolled over to a '23, I'm certainly glad I went with what I did.

I do tend to agree now that Blue Cruise capability is standard on every trim, the comfort/tech package is less essential. I mostly went with the package for BlueCruise and the 360 camera, the other stuff was a bonus (except for the power folding mirrors, I'm really digging those in my tight garage).

Without knowing what Ford will do for us 2022 orders still pending, I am planning on an alternative: BMW i4 and Audi eTron.

Both brands are what I have owned in the past 25 years so very familiar with them.

Ford better step their game up because there are alternatives to the MME.

My Ford Lightning - not so much unless you consider Rivian a major brand....
I had similar thoughts. For me - I've been waiting 6 months so far and I feel like restarting with another car company and potentially waiting another 6-10 months is not possible. I don't have a car currently. It's very difficult.

Have you tried dealers that have customer abandoned MME that they can sell for at MSRP or just above ?

I have. They don't seem to exist in LA.
I hear you.

My Ford dealer where I bought the Lightning knows I have an MME order and they keep tempting me to buy one of their customer abandoned MMEs with a $10K mark up.

I saw this ice blue silver CA Rte 1 MME Premium and loved it, but the wife won't let me buy it over MSRP.

Perhaps Ford will give everyone with cancelled 22 orders a rebate based on price increase to the model they had cancelled and they can apply that to any 23 model they chose to order. There is no perfect answer as options have changed but this approach may (or may not) be more satisfying to consumers. The issue is not just for Selects. My Mach is a GT with metal roof and no BlueCruise. If I had this on order and I had to move to a 2023 model I could not see Ford giving me the full $8000 price increase as almost half of the increase is because they are no longer options.

I could live with having to switch from a Select C/T to a Premium, but only if I'm not paying anything above the 22 Premium price.

What are price protection thoughts on a 22 premium ext ordered in Feb ‘22? I know more of this thread is focused on selects.

I would switch to a premium at even the new price if I could get it before Dec 31. Monday I guess I can get it figured out. There may be a Tesla performance Y in my future. I would have ordered a GT if it had a metal roof and the same seats as the select. Suede seats and kids don’t go well together.

Same here
Me three. I ordered a Select AWD with C/T package.
Im waiting to see what they offer, but if it is just a price match and I’m losing:

Heated seats
Heated steering wheel
Power folding mirrors
Power lift gate
Etc

then I’m ready to walk. I think I’ll just get my money back, get a base Model 3, and take a chance there’s a grace period on where the batteries are sourced from.

I'm not walking or settling. I'm not going to be chill or nonchalant about this. Ford took our money interest free and promised us a car. We waited 6+ months for a car. I understand there is a chip shortage and delay but the price is completely in Ford's control.

If Ford screws us, I won't go down without a fight. I will sue the car dealership and Ford. The car dealership promised me price protection when I made my order and that my car would be ready by September. Meanwhile they haven't given me updates but every time I go there I see 4-5 brand new Mach-Es on their lot that they are selling for 5k-10k markup. They claim these are canceled orders - there is a financial incentive for them to slow walk your legitimate orders. They want you to cancel your order! I would love to file discovery on them. Want to bet that they are playing with the order codes to maximize their financial gain?

Yeah… I won’t get a tesla. That was said out of frustration. I have nothing against the product. This may sound stupid, but my wife is a Veterinarian and her clients notice what she drIves and when she had a BMW they would make snide comments about bills and stuff. Running a small business is tuff. She works very hard. The BMW was a wonderful car but the baggage got to her. She is in her line of work to help animals, yes make money too. That said if she pulled up in a Mach-E GT performance, they woudn’t make the comments. The BMW was a $52,000 car. Tesla has the same vibe as the BMW around here. I want her to get her Ford. I hope it happens. She felt good about how we configured the select. Comfort/tech was a must.

Was trying to see how much M3 prices have gone up, but saw this funny/not funny bit instead. Tesla selling wrecked cars as new. Someone else had the same issue as well. Point is don't think all car manufacturers don't have issue, but this issue is definitely a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Is everyone priority 1? I am priority 1 so wonder if that actually matters or they made everyone priority 1 but won't actually fulfill orders.
