Just saw in Ford Authority that the windshield glass recall 21C22 was expanded to include Mustang Mach E's manufactured for the United States (no surprise there). It’s the same recall announced for Canada only it covers more cars (17,692). I am concerned about having my windshield removed and re-glued to my car because it has a light interior (Space Grey) and I’ve seen some pictures showing scuff marks and other damage to the interior of the cars after glass work (windshield repair).

This comes right after Ford announced the panoramic roof glass recall extending to the United States (which too includes more cars). In that recall the panoramic glass needs to be cleaned on the edges and adhesive added where needed.

Owners have to wait to receive letters from Ford letting them know of the recall before bringing their cars into the dealers. I assume that the dealers will outsource the work to third party companies like Safelite (at least I hope so as most dealerships are not equipped or have the skilled personnel required to perform glass repair).

I’d rather see them admit the glass is weak and cracks easily. But maybe that one will come on time.

I've seen some stories about glass shattering unexpectedly but thought it was a rare occurrence. Have you seen it is more than that? Do the windshields crack easily too? Oh Lord!

Yes, you’re right about that. I was only reporting on the windshield but the glass roof does indeed have a separate recall number.

I have mine going in Monday for the high fan speed, and I had them looking at the wind buffeting noise we experienced during our trip. I'll still have them do a visual inspection, and we'll have to later schedule the removal of both the roof and windshield and reattachment when they're ready (and have spares available if either break).

We will likely receive a FordPass notification (or can check out accounts online). The CSP Recall for PaaK appeared in my FordPass app long before I received a letter. Right now, no recalls are listed for my Mach E. Of course, only time will tell.

Sucks to hear but totally expected after reading the Canadian recall. I'm not taking my car in for them to rip apart. No thanks.

In my experience out of the many cars I've owned, often if they have to take something apart, especially interior trim pieces, something is not going to be put back properly and even damaged that you won't find until much later on. Most recent case in point, couple of the under hood trims fasteners broke when they did the updates on my MME that requires a 12V backup source to be plugged in.

This is exactly what I fear especially with my Space Grey interior. I’ll see who they pick to do the work and if it’s Safelite I’ll let them do re-gluing of windshield and glass roof.

I had a very good Safelite tech do my F-150 windshield, I may suggest they use him if they use Safelite.

Wow. That sounds like a lot of vehicles. Maybe it applies to all of the US cars manufactured so far? My guess is we will all be asked to take it in to get it inspected and the dealer will decide if either recall applies to any particular vehicle. This is quite upsetting to me.

Not good, wonder if a redesign change will occur in the future with a sliding moon-roof replacing the current edition?
