I think I might have a dealer that doesn't want to allow me to use X-Plan pricing.

Anyone have any tips to get around this? I have a car incoming and I'm not going the route of starting a new order so, is my only option to live with them not using the X-Plan?

If they agreed to it prior, Ford can pressure them. If not, beyond trying to get the order moved, nada.

I might be wrong but there isn't much you can do, number of Ford dealerships just refuse to accept X plans as a rule and they would tell you the same if you had brought it up when you placed the order with them. If they told you otherwise, you have it in writing and they are reneging then there's ground to go to battle with them.

I just heard back from the dealership. Right now, they can make a bit more money for themselves by using the X-Plan so it looks like I’ll get to use it.

It is so odd, don't the dealers just get reimbursed from Ford when they take X plan or similar plans? If they aren't charging a markup, like on a custom order, wouldn't it just make sense to be nice? Or is there another reason they don't take it?

I dont believe so, its coming out of the dealers cut when they take it. Its more of a marketing thing, in a normal time if two dealerships had same car, same msrp, you would want to seek out a dealership that's part of the xPlan club.

So the dealership I’m working with said they can make some money by me using the X-Plan. So if they don’t get reimbursed by Ford, how do they generate money by me using the X-Plan?

Dealers will receive a Plan price commission that is equal to the customer’s discount from MSRP
less D&D (4% for AZD-Plan and 2% for X-Plan).

I’m a bit confused by what I’m reading with the discount. Is the administrative fee charged back to the price or subtracted from the price.

My 2021 MME GT window sticker shows $64,440, which includes the destination and delivery fee, all the available add-on packages such as pano roof, co-pilot, and interior protection pack. So below is the way I currently understand the pricing.

$64,440.00 Sticker Price
- $1,100.00 Destination & Delivery Fee
β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”
$63,340.00 MSRP
- $1,266.80 2% X-Plan Discount
β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”
$62,073.20 Subtotal
+ $275.00 Adminstrative Fee
β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”
$63,348.20 X-Plan Price

I believe destination and delivery still get charged. You need to add it back in.

I think x-plan is a bit below 2% on the GT. It varies by vehicle. I got about $950 off the price of my GT.

I don't think it's 2% for any of the models. See 2021 X plan table below.
