The brake pedal mapping is way too touchy. They need to add some play to it. You barely tap it now and it really kicks it and throws you forward. It's dramatically different than, say, an Escape. Or pretty much any other typical ICE.

Makes it really hard to switch between vehicles.
Maybe it's intentional to make you want to use 1PD! :)

I've gone back and forth on that too. While a one-button camera icon always on the screen would be a good idea too, I want an option for automatic as well. When pulling into parking spot or a garage, looking over at the screen to touch a button every time is annoying, slow, and can be a bit dangerous when you're already close to other objects.

I think I'd still prefer an optional setting for a proximity distance. Maybe configurable to like 5 feet or 10 feet. Usually that's far enough away from the car in front of you at a stoplight that it won't come on. If it does, well, probably a good way to coach people not to get that close at a stoplight. Plus being an option, anyone could turn it off if they find it coming on too often.
My edge had a hardware button for the camera. You could push it and it would toggle through all the different camera views. It came in handy quite a bit.

In the Ford pass app when the car is plugged in I've seen a button that says "charge to 100% now" which I imagine would override your normal limit. I can't remember if it's there only when the car is charging or even when just plugged in.
The issue with this is that it actually starts charging to 100% "now" (not at the time when my electric utility's time-of-use rate plan drops to off-peak).

I still want it to wait until off-peak to begin charging... but when it does, I want it to go to 100%. But I don't want to have to reprogram the charging amount and schedule for a one-time event.

So far the only way I've found to get around it is to set my own reminder to tell me to go into the app at 11pm and press the "charge to 100%" button (that's when off-peak starts) OR edit the charging schedule and tell it to charge to 100% (which changes it for every night) and then remember to change it back the next day.

My new OTA suggestion would need to update other Sync systems, too: every time I get a new Ford, I lose all of my saved GPS locations. It would sure be nice to be able to save and load these from USB.

But, also, need shortcut buttons. I just realized there's no way to open or close the decklid from inside the car! Or the button is really well hidden, or somewhere three screens deep. This is going to be a hassle when doing pickup at the grocery store.

Because Sync4 takes so long to fully boot up (30+ seconds, like a cell phone), we could really use an option to turn on Accessory Mode as soon as the driver door button is pushed to open it.

That way it would utilize those 10-20 seconds it takes to open the door, crawl in, and put the seat belt on. By then the apps and phone connection would be almost ready to go.

That's proving to be one of the annoying things right now -- waiting half a minute for everything to load after hitting Start.

Charging schedule override pop-up on the Sync4 screen when the car is plugged into a charging location that has a delayed schedule set for it.
A nice solution for this would be to plug in, wait for the "charge scheduled" indicator (solid blue LEDs), and then double tap the charge stop button.

I don't want to get back into the car for additional steps. The FordPass app is already a better alternative to that, imo.

An intuitive use of the charger lock button would be nice for that too. And I have no problem with the FordPass app also being an option. But I'd prefer the car screen over the often cumbersome and sometimes unavailable app. Sometimes there's no cell service. And not everyone is always carrying a cell phone. The car itself needs a way to do it.

I just hit start, shift into gear (uh, rotate into gear) and go. Sync doesn't need to be fully "up" in my experience. Obviously if you want to set a route or play with the radio, then you have to wait for screen to come up. But driving, not in my experience. Can go as soon as you want.

I agree with your recommendation, however. Just wanted to let you know you don't have to be prisoner to the screen load time...

True, the drive part of the car is functional right away. That's a good point. It's just the screen stuff that's annoyingly slow to catch up.

I just usually like to have it all set and working before I take off, otherwise I'm often messing with it while driving through my neighborhood streets or out of a parking lot, where I'd really rather keep my focus on the road.

I mostly agree. But this morning I got in, hit start, went to reverse, began reversing and then THUMP. Then an alert on the IC stating that the parking brake was set. (I didn't set it. It set itself.)

So while this is clearly a bug, there is perhaps a need to wait a little bit even though the car allowed me to shift into gear.

- More trips log detail. Should be able to see each trip and all it's stats.
- propulsion sound volume
- remove rounded corners on carplay (though this is probably coming from Apple)
- show real-time regen amount while braking in 1PD
One thing I'd like to see is the "instant energy use" similar to what my Energi had. Was really nice to provide instant feedback on my driving.

I'd like to double tap the park assist button (located near the gear dial) to quickly bring up the front and surround camera views.
Or an audio command "turn on camera".The same goes for the stupid environmental system - "set fan speed" or "turn fan off". While we're at it, hitting the "auto" button should cycle low-medium-high-OFF.

At least it's an order of magnitude quicker than every previous version of Sync I've ever had (I'm thinking seven cars or so). The MME is almost tolerable in comparison.
