From my admittedly limited testing today, it seems that PaaK is slightly more readily connecting to my car. So that's a plus.

Well ford pass update can't get into my mache with phone as key right now and I can't set my charging time back to 90%. It keeps spinning and give me the red message at the top timed out.
This is why I don't like automatic updates. Gives things time to get sorted. You may have fluke issue or it might be something more general.

This would take a complete paradigm shift of how the backend cloud service, car, and app work; not just a phone app update.
I agree. But it needs to happen. Otherwise the app’s usefulness is significantly impaired.

You don't initiate a plug, you initiate a charger. At EA, only 1 plug can be used on a charger at a time, it doesn't matter which one you plug into your car, other than speed (kW), which the app lists per plug. Touching "Select" selects the charger, not the plug.
Then why have two duplicate entries? It is confusing.

I do think more timely vehicle status is going to happen. Maybe not real-time, but much closer to it then what we have now. This belief is based on the fact that the app currently says that the car will soon be able to update it's status even when it's asleep. Let's hope soon means soon.

Because chargers can have a mix of different speeds and/or connector types (150kW, 350kW, or CHAdeMO), and individual plugs can be offline.

For example, Charger 1 can have 150kW and CHAdeMO, but the 150kW plug may be offline, so MME drivers know to avoid Charger 1.

So two entries are needed to display that information.

Mentioned update not avaiable in Norway yet. Last version 3.21.0 came a week ago.

Doesn’t look like this release makes any improvements to the stuff on my FP issue list….
  • Still nothing close to real-time car status updates. My car last updated its status 5hrs ago despite multiple forced refreshes, and restarting the app. Without real-time updates, makes it very hard to monitor active charging status for charges initiated through the app. Better off using third-party apps unless you’re trying to utilize free EA kWh.

  • Still no fix to distinguish between Plugs 1 and 2 on public chargers. Both plugs listed as one identical number, so you can’t tell which to initiate.

  • When I try to use app to modify my charging schedule or max charge, and I tap “save”, the app hangs on a “Loading” message. Then finally “Sorry, FordPass isn’t responding. Please try again later.

Until these issues are fixed, FordPass provides very little utility, and a whole lotta frustration.

Next the design issue: It makes no sense why under “Manage EV” there are sections for “Manage Charging” and “Charge Times”. The Charge Times page is already nested within “Manage Charging”. Redundant and confusing. Stupid design.

I’ve never really experimented with PAAK so that’s not on my list.

Shouldn’t we have a sticky thread to keep a running list of FordPass bugs? How do we make this more visible for the FordPass team?
Try locking the car through the app and then refresh screen. Just like iphone locations, if you send a text it forces the phone to send info to the closest tower and will updste its location. I think the car is the same way. Send it a command and it forces an update. It seemed to work for me.

So the app now shows only EA chargers, it removed the EvGo chargers near me. Checked filters and it only allows me to choose EA, whether in network or not.

Started getting phantom incorrect charge messages again. It had calmed down, but back to it.
- "Will only reach 97% by your departure time". Ok, so set to 90% charge anyway and no departure time set.
- 3AM; "Scheduled Charge did not begin". Yes, yes it did.

If I uncheck the Ford Network box I see chargers from all networks including EvGO. (I have to say "I think" it's all networks. Can't say for sure since I don't know all of them, but unchecking the box results in seeing a ton of chargers, including those from EvGO).

Thanks, I had to clear all check marks, that fixed my issue.

I haven't noticed any difference since the update. I haven't had much reason to go into the app as of late, and due to the sluggish performance and bugs I try to avoid opening the app at all.

Does anyone else find it strange that in both the Play Store and the App Store the app is rated 4+ of 5? In it's current state I'd have a hard time giving the app anything above a 2 of 5, for anyone to give it a 4+ is absurd IMO.
My guess is it works a lot better for ICE vehicle owners. There are a lot more of them than EV owners, so the rating will be skewed toward them.
