After having connected with Ford via social media regarding my sitting-at-the-distribution-center MME for the past 5 days, they are supposedly 'escalating' my issue with Ford Reservations.

They also suggested that my dealer's sales manager would have more insight as to the car's status, so I emailed my salesman.

He just called, and said that they absolutely do not have any additional information. In fact, he told me that I knew more than they did, due to my tracing via Norfolk Southern.

In addition, he said that unlike in the past, they have no longer have any idea as to when deliveries will be made. Previously they typically knew a week in advance, but now he said, "cars just show up."

The sales process has also changed drastically for him, he said. Previously making the sale took 40% of the time, transportation was either not a factor or represented 30% of the time, completing the sale took about 20%, and car prep 10%. But now he said that transportation takes 80% of the time, and he has conversations like the one we just had, with customers all the time. Completing the paperwork takes 10%, and car prep 10%.

Everything nowadays is upside-down—not only for us customers, but also for the salespeople and dealerships as well.

Same here except mine is still "In Production" and my build week was 10/4.
Same here. Except now I’m also flip flopping between “in production” and ”built” and back again. Last I saw I was back “in production” but now the ford tracker isn’t working for me.

@oadesign what could it possibly be? Something that happened on that train or when they offfloaded our cars? I’ve been tracking the cars that were dropped off at VOLTZ in palsapp with my car and half the cars from that shipment have been delivered including to ID, FL, MD and PA. Makes no sense. Mine was the only GT on that truck but various selects and premiums have been delivered sand yours is a premium so doesn’t seem to be something with those specific build dates. Makes me think something happened on the train or when they offloaded…or no available trucks in MA???

Five days past my estimated delivery range of 11/21-11/27, I check and they’ve added OVER a month.

sorry to hear that but if your car is 20-30 miles away. I can’t imagine the delivery time being any later… given fords delivery windows seems to be 2-3 weeks early

The holdup is due to a shortage in truck drivers. I just had a car moved from Tennessee to Virginia, and the carrier was telling me that about 30% of the industry retired in 2020 due to COVID and there hasn't been enough recuperation in workforce. Truck drivers are also getting paid more for other critical delivery industries, such as Amazon fulfillment center deliveries and grocery store deliveries.

I agree, unless my car wasn’t on the rail car that my VIN was attached to. I’ve no way of knowing either way, but my expectations have dropped. Boy, it would make a great ‘early’ Christmas surprise if it beats the new ETA…

Overnight the Ford shopping tracker changed my delivery estimated date from 11/28 to 1/3/2022…ugh. Seg.fyi doesn’t show this update yet so not sure the full updated delivery window.
What’s the address for that site?

That's a good question! I too tracked the rail car with Norfolk Southern. The only explanations are: a. it wasn't actually on that rail car, or b. it had a dead 12V battery and wouldn't start when it arrived.

Everything's conjecture at this point, but a little transparency from @Ford Motor Company would be not only appropriate, but greatly appreciated!

Perhaps it's actually the truck driver shortage, but if so, it's hard to understand that it would add 32-39 days to the ETA for a car that is supposedly 29 miles from the dealer...

and if cars are so close to dealers why can’t they pick them up themselves????
