Two local dealers...neither have the "tools" and don't know when they'll be able to get them. This company did $136 billion in sales last year. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My Mustang has been at the dealership for almost two weeks now. My service advisor mentioned something about a new TSB being issued, and needing to get some special hardware, so putting two and two together, I'm guessing it's this. They've had to engage with some tech team for help, and after my particularly spicy Twitter rant the other day, things have been escalated on that side as well. My service department's latest gambit is to just stop answering the phone for either myself or Ford, so things are now getting escalated.

I'm hoping to get my car back next week, but I don't have a lot of hope. What I do have is a quote to sell the damn thing, because I'm done with all of this.
What is your quote? I am giving them a second chance if this works. Love the car. I know there will be more issues later, I accepted this being the buyer of a brand new car. Never get first edition anything unless you are willing to have issues such as this. I have a hard time with video games and waiting for reviews and sometimes pre order things. Bites me in the ass almost everytime...lol.

Is there a specific error code that we need to receive to be eligible for this? How do we know if we're 'stuck' on 1.7.1, or just haven't gotten to the front of the line for the next update?
Can anyone that's on 1.7.1 take their car in for updates now?
If you don't have tic tac toe or have a drawing pad you are before version 1.7.1.

If you were in Houston, I'd buy you more than coffee! :)

Just wanted to chime in here that I've had all the necessary hardware since forever (wait, not everyone has it? ?), so if you'd like to skip the dealership and save some time, I'd be happy to perform the TSB for you for the price of um... Coffee? Just to offset my FDRS cost.

Guys... this is stupid, but I'm really excited to finally have something that the car should have had since at least October, lol.
This is how Ford earns our appreciation in the end -- disappoint us with weird OTA glitches, drag the fix out for months, and then finally release and watch us get all excited about having something that everyone else has already had for months. :)

Ok if this is a Ethernet connection and FDRS is asking what connection to use, then the update procedure must go way faster right ? Just thinking practical here.

So has anyone anywhere on this forum had the fix done successfully?

Mine too at the moment. I even dropped off pieces that they were missing yesterday to fast track this fix. I swear to God I better hear something today.

Anyone making a running list of the adapters the service tech needs? I'm buying these, and leaving them on the front seat when I take my car in on Monday. Whatever they don't use, i'll return.

Trendnet USB to Ethernet:
https://www.amazon.com/TRENDnet-Ethernet-Network-Compatible-TU2-ET100/dp/B00007IFED?th=1#

Male-to-male USB 2.0 A cord (10 feet)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003L14VLY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1

USB 2.0 A Female to USB B Mini 5 Pin Female Adapter Converter
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015ORX70S/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=ADQJP9NWIFYM2&psc=1

What else do they need?
Thank you for the information. I'm doing the same and will return items to Amazon if I don't need them anymore (Sending a 10' Ethernet cable too. I may just end of keeping them for future use). Have an appointment Tuesday and everything will be in front seat like you are doing. I've waited so long I don't want the lame excuse of needing parts, etc. They will also be doing 10,000 mile maintenance and repair of passenger seat belt retractor.

Send them the updated TSB saying they can order them from Amazon if they need

Ford found that either the APIM and/or the TCU is causing the OTA problem. There is a diagnostic test in FDRS that determines which module is causing the problem. FDRS can communicate with the APIM via a direct USB connection. The TCU is connected to the APIM via an internal single-wire Ethernet network. The Ethernet dongle is used by FDRS to communicate with the TCU through the APIM.
Thank you for clarifying this again for me. I've gotten everything the dealer needs for TSB 22-2117 in case they use the excuse that they don't have all the parts (I went to my dealer Thursday to talk with the Service Department and the Parts Department but they had no idea of what I was talking about; they were supposed to call me back after they spoke with their mechanic who works on the Mach E but never did). I'll return the parts to Amazon that they end up not using Tuesday.
