EARLY ACCESS PROGRAM NOTIFICATION
SOFTWARE UPDATES FIX + BLUECRUISE™
Hi,

As you may be aware, we have encountered an issue that’s preventing us from updating your vehicle remotely. We value your participation in the Ford Early Access Program and we want to restore this capability for you as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we need you to go to the Dealer to resolve it. Now for the good news — starting tomorrow, while restoring software update capabilities, your dealer can also add BlueCruise— our hands-free driving technology — which will be available.

Please call your Dealer and mention this reference number for your software update service: TSB 22-2117. This service requires 1-2 hours in most cases, plus additional time for the BlueCruise update. Your Dealer can confirm the BlueCriuse update is available and how long the update will take.

Once you’ve had your vehicle’s update capability reinstated, be sure to set a schedule so future software updates can progress as quickly as possible. As a reminder, scheduling is only for updates that require your vehicle to be off – most updates will happen seamlessly in the background.

Ensure Automatic Updates are set to On
1. Select Settings on your vehicle's SYNC® screen
2. Select System Updates
3. Toggle Automatic Updates to ON

Set a schedule for convenient day(s) and time
We recommend setting your schedule for as many days as possible, at a time you will not need to enter or use your vehicle. You'll always be notified via FordPass™ and on your SYNC screen prior to each update. You’ll then have an opportunity to reschedule if needed.
1. Select Settings on your vehicle’s SYNC screen
2. Select System Updates
3. Select Schedule Updates
a. If no schedule has been set, select the days of the week and time that you typically don’t need access to your vehicle.
b. Your set schedule will be recurring, so every time an update that requires your ignition to be off becomes available, it will be installed at your selected day(s) and time unless changed.
c. If a schedule has already been set, you can come back at any time to change it
4. Select Save

When an update is ready for install, you can also choose to Update Now ahead of your scheduled time. You can do this when prompted on your in-vehicle screen. From your SYNC screen, simply select one of these icons when it appears

then proceed to Update Now. Or select Settings > System Updates > Update Details > Update Now. Please ensure you have enough time to complete the update, as you will not be able to use your vehicle during this time. Check your FordPass App for the latest information about how long each update will take (typically 15 to 45 minutes).

Thank you! We love having you as part of our Ford Early Access Community. You’re truly making a difference. However, if you no longer wish to participate, you can leave the program by visiting earlyaccess.ford.com/account

It won't unless they are keeping it for more than a day. The BC updates take 8-12 hours to complete if you do them all back to back.

My dealer just said that they want to keep it for another day, so I'm assuming that this is what it's all about.

Went to dealer today after they ordered the adapters last week to perform the TSB. Took about 2 hours. I was not interested in leaving it to do all the catchups there. However, my auto updates button now toggles on fine and my sync version now appears in settings. hopefully i will get an OTA soon, will post back.

^^X2 I also received the EAP email today. I dropped my car at my dealer yesterday and they called me this after noon and said was all done. I'll pick it up in the AM and give an update. BTW the service department was very confident about working on the MME. Two of the dealership employees drive MMEs and they said other then taking a long time to update all the software after 22-2117 they didn't seem too perturbed. We'll see.....

My lemon law buyback is scheduled for next week (numerous issues including this). I probably could have forecasted a fix coming a few days before. Not sure if you’d qualify for a lemon, but worth taking a look.
Will you be buying another Mach-E or getting something else like an EV6 or Ioniq 5?

Turns out I won't be getting any updates. After three hours waiting in the lobby, the service guy came out and told me they won't actually look at it today. I suppose that appointments mean absolutely nothing.

I am going to leave it to be, hopefully, worked tomorrow. At least I had a chance to forward him the email including BlueCruise. Maybe they will do that update too.

Similar situation for me. Dropped it off Wednesday. It took half a day to convince them I did in fact need the TSB. They were hoping the adapter would come today, but it didn't. Maybe tomorrow. Nobody looked at the TSB when I made the appointment last week and told them they would need to have the adapters. Similar to my last appointment at the old dealer when I dropped the car off for the windshield recall appointment only to find out they did not have the parts or the glass company lined up. Picked it up and vowed never to go back. The new dealer is better in that they actually try but still horrible at basic communication.

I'm considering selling the car, nicest thing i have ever driven, ruined by awful customer support. I don't want to think about having to deal with another nightmare like this ever again.

Just go back from the dealer.
I provided the TSB 22-2117 to the technician but he told me that he was unable to follow instructions... (and i was not able to get more information about the issue they faced off)
He told me that he updated successfully to 1.7.1 (and it is effective) but for the OTA stuck issue it will be solved during Q2 2022.
They seems to be completely out of knowledge about their own technologie, it's ridiculous.
