Generally speaking the Mach E is no longer a first model year, so if I was buying another vehicle I would probably put the GT PE over the Lyriq AWD (subject to test drive) assuming more problems worked out of the Mach E than a new vehicle at this point. IMO, the price isn't that different (although base entry point is lower for MME) except for the $7500 tax rebate, which will not be in available to Ford much longer...

IMO, the Lyriq would be a close 2nd to the Mach E GT PE. Test drive / more reviews / etc might be enough to change that... I do like my Mach E, but part of me wishes I would of waited a bit longer and picked up GT PE version...

I put in a Lyriq reservation yesterday just in case. I like the design in many ways but to be honest the over-the-top grille & front lighting is a little much for my tastes. One of the best qualities of the Mach-E is that the design is extremely cool and interesting without turning to ornate detailing to call attention to itself .

Given the Lyriq is 10 inches longer than the MME, I assumed the Lyriq would have more cargo capacity than the MME. But - no. The cargo is rated at 28 cubic feet, vs 29 in the MME (seats up) and 60 with seats down (MME has 59.7). Plus the Mach E has a big frunk. CL - no frunk.

No doubt the Cadillac's screens and other interior details are a notch above. But overall the package and price don't seem meaningfully better than Mach E in any way I can see. And it is slower. So we're left with exclusivity. Mach Es are by no means commonplace yet but you see them around now. I expect Lyriq will be a rare sight for years.
Anyone remember Cadillac CUE??

I was considering the GV60 too but the range is very short, between 248-265 miles I think. Limits it to purely city/local driving.
I think range needs to be evaluated along with the DCFC charging speed. I know nothing about the Genesis but if it charges twice as fast as an MME the lower range would not be an issue to me.

Then again I have a 2019 Nissan Leaf with just 150 miles of range on a good day (40kWh batttery). Can’t road trip it but a great EV for commuting or daily driving.

ah yes... the other car in my garage is a Cadillac ATS. (which I intend to hang on to)

When someone says the UI in their car is laggy... I think you have never tried to use CUE. That is the definition of laggy.

My next EV will need to go close to 300 (highway speed) miles at 80% charge, because 80% charge is your actual range if we are being honest.
I would say it's more like 90% down to 10% (so 80% as you say), but then 60% of that in the winter. So 500 miles is really 240 miles if being honest in the winter.

Isn’t Lyriq only launching with two color options? Black or grey?

Also if markup does come into play Cadillac is supposed to be the biggest offender according to recent articles.

The debut edition only launched with 2 colors but the orders today are allowing a few more I think (though still limited).

Technical yes, but the launch is pretty short. Not that much difference between First edition Mach E and other trims...

Opulent Blue Metallic and Crystal White Tricoat, in addition to the launch colors: Satin Steel Metallic and Stellar Black Metallic are available if you order.

I think this is a very insightful comment. High charge rate should probably trump range for long road trips. If I get 10-15% less range but my stops are 50% as long, I think it would be preferable.

Edit: Assuming of course there's some sort of minimum acceptable range. I wouldn't want to road trip with a 100 mile battery, for example.

Right now I'm in the 275-325 is the best range camp. I can comfortably road trip this with the current infrastructure. As the DCFC network gets bigger that may change. However, I'd still like to keep the stops fewer and faster

If you can and a GTPE is available....Trade in for it
I like the anytime power on demand....I thought I would be pissed with the current 5 second limiter but has not been the case at all.

I honestly drive in Whisper Mode most of the time knowing Engage/Unbridled mode is at the touch of the upper left screen.

I get more looks/questions with my MME than my Porsche 911 .......Go figure huh
Who would of thunk of that

Not sure where they got their list of highlighted features but pretty boring in my mind certainly wouldn't prompt me to buy this car. Pretty sad if a key feature is an inside auto dimming rear view mirror
