When I go to the site, it says my MME has a 1.8L DOHC engine... doesn't exactly instill confidence.
Have you checked under the hood lately though?

Yes I just heard Canada got notice as well but fortunately I just recently ordered so I have no VIN or build. I’m personally not affected in terms of vehicle. The Wait however …

I guess this is when I'll touch wood and say I'm happy to have the slowest trim (maybe second-lowest current draw, after the SR RWD). I'm really hoping the "software fix" isn't coming down to limiting current, just like how the CPU architecture bugs were "fixed" by making said CPUs slower :(

This sounds like another warranty fix that the dealerships will be absolutely unequipped to fix and result in people being without their car for a month.

I’m super dense when it comes to this stuff, but my question is how does a software update fix what seems to be a defective part? If they are changing the part on all new vehicles produced wouldn’t that mean the part is the issue?
It can be how the SW controls the part. When does it close... when does it open... are there any cases where the software controlling the part causes the part to fail.

It is likely to be software and done OTA.

So i guess the fix will be a repair and software update:


"Ford expects to offer a solution for the problem in the third quarter, according to the bulletin. Mustang Mach-E owners will be notified via mail after repair instructions and parts ordering information have been provided to dealers.

Deep said the company's remedy will include a software update to the vehicle's "Secondary On-Board Diagnostic Control Module and Battery Energy Control Module." It will be conducted remotely, or over-the-air. Customers also have the option of taking their vehicle to a Ford dealer."

That's a bit presumptive. You may drive your car and just be fine till you schedule your work when they have the parts or what they need. Sky is not falling, hopefully now fixing before it is any kind of issue for the most of us.

This just in from Ford:

"To ease speculation from worried Mach-E owners, we are releasing more details about the recall just announced. Every trim of Mach-E that has a flexometer with pilastic coating is affected."
