I was at car dealer when news
The recall fix is now available, ahead of schedule. The fix will be available at dealers now and as an OTA later. You can wait for the OTA in late July/August if you don't want to go to the dealer. Also available in FDRS for self-updaters.

This is a software fix, no parts are required.

A big thanks to the engineers that got this out early! ??

All I can say is....
Ford Mustang Mach-E Battery Contactor Recall Software (22S41) Now Available at Dealers {filename}

To be fair, we're hearing many of those same things from people on here. There are probably still some posters here who are adamant that there won't be a fix until September.
Listen to the smart people. ?

I took our car in Monday for a Powertrain Malfunction alarm but there was NO mention of the recall fix. They applied a GSM update while we were there.

Decision decisions. I COULD bring my car into the dealer for this update and hope they install the updated charge curve for the GT, too, or just wait for this OTA in a couple weeks and avoid having the dealer make my car dirty, potentially damage it, and potentially screw up the software update.

No sarcasm here, either...those are the options and those are the possibilities when bringing it to the dealer.

Why would anyone be concerned about being the first when a lot of us have already done it?
Some are not concerned about updates to software however and still use software such as 21H2 LTSC for a reason. I have given up on constantly updating hardware. It normally has a small specific job and if it does that adequately I do not find the reason to update and change that the second something new comes out. There was a rule at ASUS if your computer was working adequately do not install the latest BIOS. A couple of bricks later you get their point.

Flipping the coin. Why would anyone be concerned that they need the software. Can't go on a trip unless they have it. That is a better question.

Honestly seems like OTAs are way smoother than dealer visits.
122 pages says so

Does anyone know what causes the problem? Does anyone know why the download well fix it?
The recall said the contacts in the HVJB were not robust enough as installed and Ford will install software as to not damage the parts that are not robust enough or provide earlier warning that they will be? They mentioned DCFC and repeated full throttle events is what causes it but based on the events here that may not be totally accurate.

I know my contact issue is not even closely related to heat. Car runs good now no need to rush for the latest greatest software when people keep saying here 99.5% of the parts do not have this problem and therefore there is no rush to force this software on 99.5% of the vehicles. Hence you can wait for the OTA version.

This whole fiasco was more about holding cars on some that had been waiting patiently for delivery. If you remember the field in KC you will understand. One could speculate that there was a cost savings using software and OTA to fix hardware that is clearly stated is not robust enough. Will this fix it? Read on I guess no lack of beta testers here.

I wasn't questioning why somebody might be concerned about the new software. I was questioning why somebody would be concerned about being the first to get the software when we're clearly already well past the first cars running it.

You installed on your vehicle, right? Notice anything...different? Throttle feel less...throttley? Does the car navigate away from DC Fast Chargers by default now? Is Unbridled mode greyed out?

I agree, this is an unknown.

Has anyone with MY21 Job 1 vehicle received BlueCruise via OTA only and verified if 21G01 shows still open or not under their VIN?
I've got an early job 1 '21 (Dec 2020 build). I got BC via OTA and 21G01 BC dealer install dropped from my open Field Service Actions a few days after the OTA was complete.

Here's what I have now.

In this thread? Only one person said they’d been contacted by their dealership about the remedy. Nobody has said yet that their cars have been released from the stop sale. That’s what I am waiting to hear.
You're not getting all of the available information if you confine yourself to this thread.

As all of you have no problem with the battery contactors, can you please wait a little bit with contacting your dealers for the update, please? So those dealers have the time to update first he cars that are on hold for delivery. Those poor people (as myself) that are waiting deserve to receive their cars, don't you think?

Not sure since I just had a Powertrain fault but I will probably still wait for it to come via OTA?

Dealers will prioritize those anyways. Doesn’t look like it’s a long process so shouldn’t be an issue.

I updated as well and haven’t noticed anything different. As I stated in a different thread, I also don’t have any complex analysis tools to determine if there’s any alleged performance decreases.

Also, I am not doom and gloom about it either. Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon that there’s going to be some massive performance decrease as they sit behind their keyboards furiously banging out replies with no education on the subject besides what they read in the echo chamber.
