As asked above, photos of the new part would be helpful... especially part numbers visible for the 4 big relays.
It's only 10am here, gonna give my new friends a call in a bit. I guarantee you there's not a part on their delivery dock yet.

I want to make it clear that my opinion on updating shouldn't be taken as advice. It's just what I'm doing. My argument in the other thread is more about how people assume this is a fix, when it's really not. I'm normally the first one to update with FDRS and I haven't done these updates. I don't really want to until I see how it plays out. But there's a lot of people who probably should get the update. It's depends on how each person deals with life situations. Prior to this update the car wouldn't just stop in the middle of the road on you, it would stop when you turned it off. It just wouldn't turn on again. I guess if you drive in areas that are "bad" routinely then maybe the update would be the safer route.

I mostly drive to work and to my clients locations in this car. If it stopped working in a parking lot of a client I would probably get a free dinner out of it and we'd joke about it happening.
I stand corrected and pardon my poorly worded post. My GT is my daily commuter of 34 miles round trip so minimal risk or hassle for me. My dealer is 2 miles from work and 19 miles from home.

The software fix satisfied NHTSA and did nothing to address the reliability. Sounds like we now have a safer way to ensure our cars get the proper spec contactors.

Edit: I'm really sorry to hear that you've had to deal with this problem yet again. I'm grateful that you are sharing the experiences with others, though.
This is looking more and more like the Chevy Bolt issues (without the burning EV) where a recall software fix didn’t do the job, leading to a wholesale replacement of the physical part (HV battery) in all vehicles.
I wonder how long it will be before Ford changes this recall to a replacement of the upgraded HVJB.

Scoop ... here's a little tip. K Band isn't used in California (unless on Federal Land). Only KA and Lidar/Laser. So turn the other bands off so you don't get annoying false alerts.

Sorry I couldn't resist commenting on it.

A way to get around it I think would be to limit the current the motors demand in certain situations. Perhaps if done right, the limitation would be basically invisible to owners (like getting a couple more bars on rare occasions, not great, but perhaps not awful either). On the other hand, if there is no way to do it except give everyone a horsepower haircut, that would be a terrible 'fix' for this.
I'll double down on my statement... limiting current is not a fix. There is no way it would not be intrusive at some point.

The grapevine hill where this failure occurred is instructive... the steady state current draw going up that hill is hundreds of amps to maintain speed with the flow of traffic. The hill is ~10 miles... Any resistance in the relay is going to get really hot under those conditions.

but, I expect ANY car I own to be able to maintain 70+ under those circumstances.

The relay is spec'd at 500A continuous which is clearly not enough... how about a bigger relay... how about two or three in parallel?

NOw I can’t get β€œHumpty Dumpty” out of my head!
It's Blippi -- if you don't have little kids you don't understand how insidious Blippi is in taking over your brain.

I wonder what expression Blippi would have if he threw these DTCs on his road trip?

I have a uniden R7 and it's generally great in filtering out K bands -- but I agree it's on my list to turn off at some point .......

I bet the GTs will be plenty "robust" with the revised engineered part. At least that's what I'm telling myself tonight. While watching video reviews of the i4 m50 and trying to convince myself that the front is "not that ugly". My kids are telling me otherwise though.
I agree the final fix will be more robust. I also agree the front end of the i4 M50 is ugly. I ordered one anyway, I figure I can't see it while I am driving ;)

Well, we'll see how a part to your specs (or more!) does on the way back....

I know, he sold his character for multi-hundred millions. I had 5 hours of Blippi mixes on Apple Music yesterday.
