They already updated the campaign I'm told
Do you think they want to do additional testing prior to releasing the car? Maybe Ford asked them to do something before releasing it? Hard to believe they want to keep a car that is taking up space on their lot, so maybe there is a good explanation.

Dealer took it on a 12 mile "test drive" , but they still now won't release the car to me because it "needs module updates." Of course I know that's not true..... I think we're going to see what exactly they are updating on my completely-updated car instead of letting us drive home ?
Maybe there’s a new update with the new part installed?

Sorry - that is "FAKE NEWS". The Lightning has different motors and the battery pack comes from SKI. It is a completely different EV drivetrain. I am sure it will have it's own warts, but they will be different warts.
Ah, well blame early reporting I read (or my faulty memory).

Although I'm not sure that's better. That just means another first-gen product with new and different warts.

Most dealers in the socal area are clueless and assume everyone is within a couple of miles radius of the dealership, depending on where scoopman is in the LA region and the time he gets the call to pick up it could take hours just to get to the dealer.
I'm 15 min away from this taco stand

No, there isn't. Dealer still hasn't touched the car. They are just screwing with me, especially and even after my nicely explaining that we have a 6 hour drive ahead of us today. I'm sure I'm getting a call to pick it up at 5pm today.

Nope. No further testing or anything needed or being done. They're just messing with me. Service manager didn't call me back either.

At least all of you have your car! My 3/14 build date arrived at the dealer 3 days before the stop sale. And now the dealer claims to have only 1 certified EV tech and he is too busy doing transmissions so there is nobody to do the software update and release my car and the 7 others in Stop Sale. I think if I ever get this car that it will be the last car I ever buy from Ford. Sure it’s my dealer that sucks but why did they allow dealers to sell EVs that have no personnel able to handle even the simplest of software updates. This is the 21st century. This model is totally last century and needs to be retired for good

My 2022 Select AWD arrived at dealership from factory on 6/25. Update was done on 6/29; we picked up the car on 7/1. We drove the car 491 miles from the dealership in Indianapolis to where we live in West TN. We DCFC'd car 3 times on the way home to 84% each time on 7/2. I drive 160 miles roundtrip to work; I charge the car at home with a Grizzl e classic 40 amp charger each night. So far so good (knock on wood lol). I talked to the service manager at the ford dealership that I normally buy our cars from and had him order the "new" HVBJB. Going to pay for it out of pocket. My choice based on dealing with Ford recalls in the past on my ICE Mustangs with 1st generation 5.0 Coyote engines.

I definitely commend you for your patience. I would have stolen my car back already.

That's encouraging, can you say some more about what that was like in terms of available power?

Were you flooring it and maxing out at 60? Giving half throttle and reaching 70 with still some room to go faster? Something else?

The power was very linear where no matter if I floored it or not it accelerated at the same rate (I was driving >73mph). I'm sure the "limp mode" ensures you don't induce a wide open throttle (WOT) event that would further damage the car. I have faith in Ford as I have had a major issue with my F150 in the past in which they fixed. IMO, Ford applied the software to identify those vehicles whom are most likely to have a total malfunction due both aggressive driving and faulty parts. I hope that my wife inducing the faults and me having to take it to the dealer will ensure I get the beefier HVBJB's.

I'd march right over there and demand my car back in person, and make scene if they refuse. They're asking for it here. Start yelling for the manager in front of everyone. Get in and drive it away if you have to.

EDIT: Maybe they damaged something and are stalling.

And then ask for a taco with extra cheese.
