One does indeed. Or perhaps tone down the reported failure rate/criteria in the software. One has to wonder if they decide to ramp up this OTA instead of all at once.

Not sure that's something I would do now that there's litigation pending. Also, not sure but one would think they've already filtered out what they would think were false alarms. One does indeed. Or perhaps tone down the reported failure rate/criteria in the software.
Only Monday the 4th was a corporate holiday at Ford, not the whole week.I definitely think that's the case. Your info regarding corporate being off this past week was also very eye-opening.
Ford has not officially said but it is believed the new parts were in use starting on May 25. So if that is correct, you should have the new part. And new software. Is there reason to believe that GTPEs built after May 25 have different hardware (HVB contactors)? Or will they just have the software "patch" installed from the factory?
My car was built on 6/30 and I wonder what hardware or software changes were made at the factory to address this issue...?
This perfectly sums up what I've been thinking is likely the case. I wouldn't be surprised if Ford ends up being surprised by the resulting failure rate and (hopefully) turns this into a h/w recall...There will be a steady flood of repairs needed once the OTAs start flowing. We will probably see one a day or more on the forum. It’s because the car will be able to detect a partially fried contractor for the first time. The problem already exists, it just isn’t being detected with the older software until total failure.
I don’t think it’s a problem with the software. It’s sort of like if you install antivirus on your computer for the first time in years, it might detect some preexisting things, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s oversensitive.
Funny you would think this. Recall software has apparently been ... recalled? or at least suspended. This perfectly sums up what I've been thinking is likely the case. Full disclosure: I already read that thread ?Funny you would think this. Recall software has apparently been ... recalled? or at least suspended.

Hope you made the Tesla eat your exhaust! Or contactor smoke.Mine failed as I was accelerating onto the road (in front of a tesla) out of my neighborhood. I was able to turn off the road onto the next street without hesitation as I knew exactly what was happening because of this forum.
