Ok Mike, I thought so….
Dealer tried to update that module, but was having an issue with the usb…..
I am going back next Monday when a more knowledgeable tech will be in! Thanks for the response……. Bill P
Hey Mike, Et Al, Update 7/25/22
As noted above, I took car in today to have OBCC module updated….
Because of the problem prior(usb drive), I asked if everything went well this time when using usb. The service manager said no issues, a usb drive wasn’t required for this update…..
if you could once again run my vin to see if OBCC module is now not listed, it would be appreciated! Bill Pitman

Build date info from FDRS:

Below is the only work session in FDRS that shows up for your car, basically a pre-delivery check:
3FMTK3SU0NMA27448-25-July-22Work.png

And that leaves the list of available updates which includes the BECM, PCM, SOBD, SOBDMB, and SOBDMC which were all supposed to be updated as part of the recall. I think they expect that your car will get updated by the OTA. Nevertheless, they were economical with the truth, or less than candid, and quite possibly outright lied. I'll leave that to you to decide.

Mike,
Thank you so much for checking on this for me! Is it possible that if the car was built with the new HVBJB that it wouldn’t require the recall update? I’m guessing probably not, but it’s curious that they’d ship it without the updated modules.

Not really. At the time the car shipped the software wasn't ready. So it may indeed have the improved contactor part number but that's no guarantee that it was going to have the updated software. And that software update was for every car, with newer hardware or not.

I'm pretty sure your dealership is assuming you will get the update via OTA. There was a "stop sell" order in effect that said that the dealers had to do the update before releasing the car. Now I don't know if that was rescinded by the time you got yours or not.

Another problem we've seen mentioned is that cars without the most current update for those recall-related modules that still have available updates showing can't get the dealer to do the programming because they've already signed it off saying the recall work was done.

Thanks Mike! Took this car in this morning to the Dealer - I'm supposed to pick it up tomorrow when I take the premium in., They were supposed to do the recall update, and update all the modules you pulled for me earlier... Anyway you can see if they actually did them?

No worries if you can't.! I'm just curious.

Yeah they haven't touched it.

No session history for today at all. And the list of available updates is the same as above.

Maybe they're planning to do it first thing tomorrow?

What equipment do you use to connect to the OBD II ? Also the best charger to buy.
Do you need a FDRS subscription to check what software is need to be updated?

Between the 22S41 recall and CSP 21P22 most of these would get done at Ford's cost.

Mike
Hey Mike G,

My dealership did FDRS today which included 21P22, and 22S41, and then performed module repairs after getting the B1578 code in the IPMA by following the steps outlined in the new TSB 22-2295. Took awhile.

Could you check what the FDRS queue for it looks like now? -> VIN-> 3FMTK1SS0MMA46549

Thanks in advance,

Doug

Okay, so I show that work was done on the 22nd regarding the HVJB. Some sort of pinpoint diagnostics test. I don't see where any module programming took place. The modules that were supposed to be updated by the recall are no longer in your list of available updates, so that has been done.
