Why is the Mach E so much more expensive than the Model Y?

For instance the MME AWD ER is m about £10k more than the Model Y LR.

I have never understood this. Is it because Ford can get away with charging as much as possible ?
Similarly Mach E is way more expensive than Ioniq 5 or EV 6

I think it is a much better car. Of course value is subjective so if the Model Y meets your needs and expectations then it might be a better value for you.

I know we have some currency differences here, but are you sure about those prices? In the US, the MY LR is $65,990, and a Mach-E Premium ER AWD is $66,275.

You could get a CR1 MME and still be pretty on par with the MY on features and it would be $63,575.

Make sure on the Tesla site you aren't leaving it on the default "Potential Savings" section which DOES show the MY at about $10k less than the MME, but that potential savings factors in gas and that if I recall. You could apply the same thing to the MME.

That Fisher-Price interior in the Y only costs Tesla $59.95. There’s your savings, enjoy it ?. And here in the US the MME is actually about the same price or cheaper depending on spec.

I was comparing both when I was purchasing and felt that Blue Cruise was better than Tesla's standard auto pilot but not as advanced as Tesla's enhanced auto pilot which comes with a $6500 price tag. Let me also include that there is one level above Enhanced which is "Full Self Driving" which is a $12,000 addition.

I agree with you, if i hadn't been able to buy my MME for much less than the Y, I would have chosen the Y all day long.

We definitely wouldn't have gone MY if the MME was more expensive. We did the Tesla Test Drive event by us a year or so ago because we were considering the MY over the MME and the Model Y was not it. The interior is bleh, especially not having an instrument cluster in front of you. AutoPilot also made some weird/harsh speed changes and that which even my more basic 2019 F-150 with just adaptive cruise handled way better. No comparison when it comes to the '21 F-150 and BlueCruise which is way better than that MY we test drove (this MY didn't have full self driving and that obviously, and the MY still wins in areas like auto lane changes, I am only talking about smooth operation of basic lane centering and adaptive cruise).

If it wasn't a Mach-e, it would have been an ID.4 or even an Ioniq 5, or just keeping the Focus Electric for another year or so. So many better choices than the Model Y these days in every area except charging network, the Supercharger Network is still pretty untouchable.

I was just thinking the same thing. For now, at least, all Mach-Es come from the Mexico plant under the same cost structure.

Here in Canada that's not how it is.
Loaded Premium AWD LR is $78k
Loaded MY AWD LR is $96k

When I bought my Premium last year, the gap was even bigger....
