I got my first OTA in 3 months yesterday! My dealer said they completed 21P22 and 21G01 on August 18th. I am dropping it back off to have them check 21G01 again, and for the windshield/roof recalls. Also asked for the extra fob.

Thanks again for your help!
Okaaaayyy....well they certainly looked up how to do both of those programs but no programming got done of any sort. Just light reading on what was involved. And that was on the 5th of August.

Your recall was done the day before on the 4th.

There have been no modules programmed at all since the 4th of August. I suspect they don't know you can check up on them.

Your car wasn't connected to or your VIN even looked up on the 18th. So no idea where the date comes into it.

Take a look at the 21P22 instructions and the 21G01 instructions.

Those door modules? They are only updated by a tech in the shop during the programming related to CSP 21P22. So if CSP 21P22 is done then how are they still in this list?

Trust me. These folks think you don't know any better, and they also think you can't check their work.

They never did 21P22, and they also never did 21G01 or you wouldn't see the CCM, CMR, IPMA, and PSCM in this list either.

Attached are the CSP 21P22 instructions and the updated instructions for 21G01.

That OBCC and SOBDM would be helpful to do.

I can tell you that both the OBCC and WACM were updated and it said it was successful, so not sure why they're still in this list. Those were the only two modules they programmed though.

I've had the OBCC show back up after I'd just done it...but not the WACM. Interesting.

Thank you again Mike!

they kept the car an extra day to complete the OBCC. The WACM was completed on the 1st.
At least they did what they said they would do.

Bought a used 2021 Mach E GT and when I do the check for updates in the car, it says nothing is available but the FordPass app says the recall for the battery connector issue is incomplete.

Would someone be willing to check my VIN to see if the recall update is in fact installed?

Thank you!!

Your 22S41 HVJB recall is not complete. The recall process updates the PCM, BECM, SOBDM, SOBDMB, and SOBDMC.

The last time your VIN was checked was 25 May.

The best thing to do to get OTAs to download is to drive your car in an area where there is at least three bars of AT&T cell coverage. Ford says, to help with downloading updates to your car, to put it on your home wifi while it's there, but there is very little confidence that updates actually download over wifi of any sort, instead they normally download using the car's telematics unit (TCU) and that's on AT&T.

Set a daily schedule for updates to get applied and pick a time when the car will likely not be charging, since the car can't update while charging is going on. I set mine to 0930 in the morning. I know this may sound backward, but you do have to set a schedule to enable updates to happen, but you can then turn off automatic updates and instead, when you see the little download icon at the top of the Sync screen you can choose to update or ignore it. Some people like to have a bit more control over when updates happen.

The car will check several things before applying an update, and one of the most significant is the state of charge of your 12V battery. If that's below an 80% SOC the updates will not initiate.

If you think your car is not getting OTAs for some reason you an call your service manager and ask them to check the OTA dashboard they have. It's part of the Prof Tech System (PTS) they use. They can immediately see in real time through the 'connected vehicle' functions whether or not an update is queued for your car, the status of the update, whether any updates have failed and the reason for that. They can also see, again in real time, any error codes your car is complaining about (that you may not even know about).

Thank you so much for the reply! Car is connected to home Wi-Fi so I will call the service center on Tuesday and see what they can look up. Worst case, I will just take it in and have them do it. Guessing it is just a day job and don’t need to leave it over night.

I really appreciate your help!!

Took me about an hour.

But you're right...the dealer will likely take the whole day

Got my car new in July, dealer said they did all the updates, curious if true. I think an update notification was up once in the car, but nothing ever in the app.

VIN

Thanks!

23 May '22 build date.

Service advisors talk in shorthand. For example, when one of them says "Yes, absolutely, we did all of the updates." What that actually means is "Yes, absolutely, we did all the updates that Ford is going to pay for under warranty, and without a customer concern from you these other ones on this list aren't going to get done."

Just so you understand going forward.... ;)

Thanks Mike! So with that build date, did I miss having a new HVBJB by literally a day? Also, any of those updates worth pushing to get done or it's all pretty optional?

I would say they're pretty optional and some would be done in response to a concern expressed by you.

Example: "When I drive the car sometimes the seats and mirrors adjust to the settings my wife uses with her key fob, instead of the settings for my profile and key fob." They would then update the DSM.

"Sometimes when I get in the car my climate control settings are turned off and/or not set the way I left them, or it takes a while to get the cabin heated up when it's cold"....they would then update the HVAC.

I don't know if the newer HVJB contactor parts were started on 25 May or whether that was just when the software changes were made.
