You can turn off the honk for locking. I know that's not an alternative sound, but I think silence is better than a honk.
100% agreement. My 911 has a nice chirp that is not the horn. I kinda wish The Mach e had this for walk away lock so you know for a fact it worked. Since walk away lock doesn't work 100% of the time. The phone notification usually works though so that helps.

I don’t think you’ll find a difference in the APIM. As-built in there only adds and removes features and options. The switch that you’d enable tells another module to turn on or off something. The APIM doesn’t even save it on/off status, it seems to read status from other modules upon boot.
So as you already know, but for the benefit of others that don't, a lot of the individual values for addresses are not completely mapped out in Livinitup's spreadsheet.

Specifically talking about the APIM....

Using As-Built compare I have found things that are different between my Lightning and my dealer's mannequin, (same trim as mine) and my Mach-E. And some of these differences have no description in the spreadsheet at all (like all of 7D0-10-03 for example).

And in other cases, where I've noticed differences between the three vehicles the description in the spreadsheet stops short of identifying all of the address space (like 7D0-09-05 xxxx-xxxx-xx-- as an example).

I don't know where this is mapped out or how these settings descriptions are derived.

Some of the differences between my Lightning and the dealer's mannequin can be explained by my personalized settings. But I'm nore interested in the differences between those two and my Mach-E. I've posted on the F-150 FORSCAN forum to see if there's any more info on some of these addresses that have no description and will see what comes of that.

There is a walk away lock setting in the Lightning as well but mine shows as disabled. I wonder why that hasn't been turned on as an option? Are they going to roll that out with PAAK on the Lightning?

I'm not sure but its one thing I have to be careful about. If I drive The Mach E exclusively for a while then start driving another one of my cars I will forget to lock it.

I misread the quote. I thought it was still talking about the double honk when closing the doors while the vehicle is on.

After dealing and sometimes appreciating the double honk on walk away lock, I just disabled it. The number of times it has annoyed me far exceeds the number of times I appreciate it.

Ford Mustang Mach-E How-to DIY: Disable Double Honk with Mach-E Running in FORScan KDA_LB

So the Lightning does have this menu option and the Mach-E currently doesn't. So on the Mach-E if I change the value to a "3" it should work. If I really wanted to get jiggy I could set it to "6" and experiment with Lane Biasing.

Livinitup posted a revised spreadsheet that he says added a bunch of Lightning settings. I think it was the same original spreadsheet but it just didn't have all the stuff removed that somebody thought didn't apply to most ICE trucks.

Just tried setting it to 3 and two APIM resets. Nada. I don't think the APIM in the Mach-E has that in software even if you enable the option to have it show up.

Has anyone tried disabling the hood switch so that it doesn't cancel a remote start if you open the hood? Wondering if that will inhibit remote start all together?

No, and that just seems like a generally bad idea all around.

Why do you say that? The hood switch input to the remote start logic is a carryover from ICE vehicles to prevent injury in the event of an inadvertent remote start while working under the hood. I can't think of a valid reason to cancel a remote start because the MME hood is open.

Or because the hood isn't properly secured all the way and they remote start, get in the car later and drive off only to be greeted with the hood flying fully open?
