ah ok, i think i understand. there are lots where ford stores a whole bunch of cars. some of those lots are at railyards (like richmond, ca) and others are not near a rail depot so they have to take them there by convoy. i assume this means there's no place to store the cars at the rail depot where they are unloaded, so they have to be ready to haul them off by convoy to the lot as the trains are unloaded.That’s what no one outside of ford really knows, or at least I haven’t found an answer. Regardless of rail or convoy they are all railroad yards.
then i guess some other company picks up particular cars from those lots and takes them to their ordering dealership.
