Service Procedure

NOTE: When performing the IPMA software update additional modules will receive software updates. Depending on vehicle features, the coordinated software update includes the IPMA, power steering control module (PSCM), cruise control module (CCM) and/or camera module - rear (CMR).

1. If the vehicle exhibits indications of a low battery voltage condition such as DTC U3003 present in other modules or an engine no crank/no start concern, check for OASIS messages for low battery voltage and continue with diagnostics for low battery voltage. Low voltage may have been exhibited previously before the vehicle came in for repair which resulted in U3000:49.
2. If DTC U3000:49 is present in the IPMA, download and run the Reset the Image Processing Module A (IPMA) Learned Values application in Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) to clear DTC. Proceed to Step 3.
3. If DTCs U2107:68 and/or U3000:89 are present after performing an IPMA self-test, clear the DTCs and only perform diagnostics for U2107:68 and/or U3000:89 if these DTCs set outside of an IPMA self-test. Proceed to Step 4.
4. Is the vehicle an F-150 (non-Lightning) built on or before 28-Mar-2022, Expedition/Navigator built on or before 18-Feb-2022 or a 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E built on or before 04-May-2022?
(1). Yes - proceed to Step 5.
(2). No - proceed to Step 6.
5. Reprogram the IPMA using the latest FDRS software level. Follow all on-screen instructions carefully to complete all coordinated module software updates.
6. Perform the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) Image Processing Module A (IPMA) Alignment procedure.
7. Perform the appropriate FDRS camera alignment procedure.
(1). For vehicles equipped with 360 degree cameras, perform the IPMA - 360 Degree View Camera Alignment procedure.
(2). For all other vehicles, perform the IPMA - Pro Trailer Backup Assist Camera Alignment procedure. This procedure should be performed on all vehicles without 360 degree cameras, even if the vehicle is not equipped with Pro Trailer Backing Assist™ (PTBA).
8. Run the IPC-Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Configuration application in Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS).

I wonder if this could have something to do with the fact that BlueCruise has recently stopped working on my 2021 MME First Edition...

This is an update to TSB 22-2295 for BlueCruise error messages.
Does this have anything to do with low 12V? Mine was at 11.9 the other day.

In the spirit of DIY-ing things aka FDRS, does anyone know what the IPMA alignment procedure involves? I could have sworn I read somewhere at some point about a special mat you place (around? behind?) the car that would help the cameras figure out their calibration, but I can't find any mention of that now.

Just an FYI, I haven't seen any new software in FDRS available yet for any of these modules on any cars. Might wait just a bit longer before trying to get into a dealer.

You have to drive the car on a flat road with good lines for a couple minutes, staying perfectly centered.

For the 360° camera you have to drive around a flat, empty parking lot over marked spaces until stitching is complete.

The alignment mats were used on the previous generation IPMA.

Have you recently had windshield/pano roof service?

we had our Windshield/Pano recall done and they broke the single-wire coax that runs from the front camera across the pano and down to the trunk.

We got this error message over and over, before finally figuring that the coax was broken.

Ya know?...... I was just going to ask what the plan is if you have those symptoms but don't have any software updates available to ostensibly correct these issues. (Configs and PMIs I guess?)

What this does reinforce though is that if you do have software updates available of any sort, it's probably a good idea to do them under the operating principle that there must have been a good reason for creating the update and publishing it in the first place.

Or maybe they release botched updates in FDRS by complete accident and they end up breaking stuff or bricking your modules. You never know sometimes...
