Ummm, what?
So I've never looked at the MachE sub-reddit before.
I did for the first time today and just came across this post, from today, and the link to the Ford press release, also from today (below).
High points from announcements and the Twitter Spaces session:

High points from announcements and the Twitter Spaces session:
- Gen 1 cars, from 2024 forward will get an NACS adapter. Tesla is working on that adapter now, targeting production "early next year"..
- Gen 2 cars forward will drop J1772/CCS and change to NASD.
- Jim Farley: "We're totally committed to the NACS interface going forward."
- Cost
- Elon: "It will, not be cost prohibitive. It'll be something's quite affordable, you know, in the hundreds of dollars range. You know, it's an adapter, so its not super expensive."
- Software
- Elon offered to help Ford, and the industry in the software space, comparing what Tesla could do to being the "Android" of the industry. Android being the base operating system that Samsung and others customize to create their own experiences.
- OP note: This would be EXTREMELY difficult as automotive software is so tied to the firmware, which is unique to the OEM suppliers or makers of the hardware (Bosch, Denso, Delphi, Visteon, Magna, Eaton, LG, Vale, BorgWarner, etc.). A key to Tesla's software superiority is that they have brought so much of the hardware development and supply in-house. So many of the parts that Tesla uses (motors, hydraulic manifolds, processors/silicon, onboard chargers, inverters, etc.) are developed and made by Tesla, where most other manufacturers source those parts from the BorgWarners, LG's, Visteons, etc.)
- Existing Ford Chargers
- Jim Farley: "Yeah, everything will still work, so we should be good with that."
